LaPtiteBete: So, go on !! Say something in french... :-D

moonshineshadow: Je ne sais pas que je peut dire?

So now tell me all the mistakes :D
We should make a competition who can say something with the most and the least mistakes ;-)
Hihi... lovely. Let's go for a french lesson.
"Je ne sais pas ce que je peux dire" would be correct ; but we rather say "Je ne sais pas quoi dire" :-)

ok great :-) Soo it was not that wrong, could have been worse :D What often happens to me when trying to say/write something in French quickly is to forget the "pas" after the verb :D

"Laissez les bons temps rouler!" is the only French line I remember from my year of it in high school. It's Cajun-French for 'let the good times roll.' You hear it a lot during Mardi Gras... and from gambling freaks when they're on a winning streak.
Good moaning, everyone!

How are you all today? I see we are all a little French today.

In the spirit of the French flavour, I will attempt an Officer Crabtree from Allo Allo style sentence (which will make no sense to anyone who has not seen the show):
Hollow, how air you all doing this moaning? I hop you are all wheel? :-)

Bonjour! Ça va?
Yeah to the internet, since I could not find that hook for the C on my mothers German keyboard :D For easy access to that I would need to be in my office at work, since the Swiss keyboards have a weird mix of symbols / letters to accomodate the three official languages that are really used (the fourth one does not count :D )

Hi!

I'm good thank you, how are you ding today?

The link is just a compilation of Officer Crabtree from Allo Allo. The joke on the show is that he is a British agent undercover in France during the war who can't really speak French. I just put it in there to explain why I said good moaning.

Sadly it's been many years since I studied French, so I think I will stick with English, as I don't really remember any French.

Hello Agent !! (mornoon ?... ô_ô) How are you feeling today ?
That doesn't matter for the french lesson... Nobody forces you...
C'était juste pour passer le temps ! ;-p (it was only to pass some time...)

Good morning, Agent! Don't worry, you are not alone, I can't speak it either. Which make you wonder if the rest of them are just making words up to trick us English only speakers. ;-)

Nah, since LPB is from France we can't make up all the stuff, but she was giving us a small lesson :D What I said to you was basically "Good morning / Good day. How are you?"

Hah, I understood that without the translation. I am proud of myself now ;-P

I don't know this show... but it reminds me somehow an old TV show called "Papa Schultz"... :-)
No matter for the french **hug** as long as my english mistakes don't hurt your eyes too bad... ^^

It's an old BBC comedy about a cafe owner in France during the war. It has them speaking English but with a (fake) French accent and the undercover English agent is always using the wrong words, to highlight how bad he is at speaking French. I understand it was quite popular in France, and even in Germany.

Thank you for the hug, and don't worry about any mistakes in English, I don't think anyone here really makes a big deal out of anything like that. Which is another nice thing about the forum.
