CarrionCrow: They sound good, and so long as I stick with the healthy Japanese ones and not the deep-fried cheese stuffed Italian ones, I'll be okay.

The double-edged sword...you want more rest, but if your brain latches onto it, you could end up with your schedule going to crap again.
Or at least that's what happens with me.

I'd say so, yes. The smell of meat is making me a little queasy in general, but otherwise I'm good.
One of the roommates has recovered as well, so only one more person to get back to full strength.

How's your mom doing? Haven't asked about her in a bit, hopefully she's recovering well.
It's not so much that it would mess with my sleep pattern, but it would mess with my work schedule. Plus if I make a habit of staying in bed and cuddling up to my partner then I will find it a habit hard to break. On the rare occasions when I have a holiday from work it always take me a few days to adjust to not getting up early, then a few more days when I get back to adjust for sleeping in.

Glad to hear you are doing better, and that your roommates are getting better as well.

My mum is doing very well. She has livened up quite a bit since Sunday when we had the whole family at the farm for the day. She also seems to be getting some of her fighting spirit back, which is great to see. She had a big argument with a woman who likes to make snide comments about me and my partner, something my mother has never tolerated. I had an image of her trying to leap from her wheelchair to start a fight, but luckily she managed to behave and stayed in the chair, otherwise she would cause more damage to her healing bones.

Do you have any jobs lined up ready for when you graduate, or is it a little too early for that?

I should have but i'm not really sure what i want to do after university. I'm interested in city or regional develeopment though. Or something like foreign aid...
I have been to the first day of what was going to be my ambulance rotation... Long story short... They have no free slots left, which leaves me without rotation = risk of being kicked out of the course :(

That's understandable. I had a very nice job lined up, but due to some family problems I had to stop my doctorate, which was a pre-requisite for the job. Good luck with finding a nice job that you will enjoy.

I am sorry to hear that, it sounds really awful to get kicked off your course just because of a technicality. I hope it won't come to you being kicked off your course. Is there any chance of free slots coming up soon?

Thank you :). Making my doctorate first and staying would be another option but the earnings at a public university a rather poor...

I understand that. Doctorates are not for everyone, and often they are not needed for people's career choices. But it's good that you have your options, should you not find a nice job that suits you.
Morning all :)

Lovely and sunny here today, and while there are a few work things that need doing it's mostly relaxing today. Going into town to have a nice lunch and treat ourselves a little with our earnings.

That's a shame... because the deep fried Italian ones are delicious XD
Never made them, but had them a few times and they are gorgeous.

How is everyone?

Good morning!

That sounds like a nice day you have planned. Enjoy spending some of that hard earned money.

Definitely. But first things first. Before thinking about doctorate i need to finish my master's degree...which will be next year i hope.

Good luck with your masters. Hopefully the next year will go well and at the end of it you will have a nice masters degree and maybe even a job lined up.

I hope so. I want be more purposeful in my master's now - i don't want the whole trouble i had in my bachelor's happen again when i nearly messed it up.

Yeah, still got some work to do (picking up wood and a few other things) but it's nice to have a day off, it's been awhile XD

We won't be going crazy, just a nice lunch and some bits and pieces. But even with the weekend not being as good as we hoped I think things have finally turned around and we will be in the positive from now on.

That sounds like a good idea. You don't want to lose all of that hard work by not putting yourself 100% behind the course.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you (despite a few less than spectacular events), and so early in the year as well. Fingers crossed you have a great summer season. I bet it's such a relief for you both to have things looking more positive and seeing all your hard work paying off?
