CarrionCrow: All right...went to the store...it was mostly empty so I'm figuring that all the procrastinators, the last minute "I forgot such and such" people, the religious types, they're all still busy.

That works.
Mornin' Crow, glad to hear you're all well enough to eat today.
I'll do my shopping tomorrow when people are still in a coma or back to work. ;-)

Good afternoon. =)

Yeah, I'm figuring the stores are a mess right now. Church is probably done, people are realizing what they just have to have, all that junk.
Makes me happy that I went early.

How's your day going?

Good day here, had a huge veggie omelet, coffee and a nap so far.
Looking to be about that ambitious all day. ;-)

Went to a couple stores, moved a smoker, watered a tree, and now it's watching a show about bikers.
Figuring that's how things'll be going on this end today.

It's good to have goals. ;)
Good day/ evening, folks.

Glad to see it's been a good one for most of you, and that you have some big plans for the rest of it. :-)

HypersomniacLive: Hi adaliabooks,

How did it go yesterday?
Hey Hyper, sorry for the (very) late reply. Only stopped in briefly earlier and didn't get a chance to answer. Yesterday wasn't great, much quieter than we'd hoped. But today was a lot busier, but also swelteringly hot and exhausting. Only made about half of what we made at the same event last year, but we were the only caterer on last year and there were three of us this year, so that's not really too surprising, but still a little disappointing.

But while fairly happy if tired from a full days work, we returned home to find the washing machine has been leaking a little and the kitchen floor was flooded, so we spent the early part of the evening ripping the lino up as it was literally floating and not salvageable :/
*sigh*
So rather than the lovely relaxing evening we'd had planned we've had to clean up the kitchen mess a little...
But I went and bought wine, so I'm slightly drunk now, which makes everything a little better.

Anyway; evening all, how is everyone else?

Burritos and ham both sound delicious (I do love a good roast ham). Never actually tried burritos but they do sound very tasty, might have to give it a go sometime.

Good evening. =)

You are absolutely right. I'm inspired by Endre's example to the point that I might go that extra mile and make myself a big omelet later on.
It'll look like mangled ass since I almost never manage the flip without tearing it up, but it'll taste good. =)

Nothing's worse than a hard night after a hard day. Sorry to hear that, what a pain. :(

Meh,
It was annoying at first, but now that I'm drunk I don't care as much... it's great how that works ;)

Just deciding what to play to relax for a bit before bed, it's probably going to either be ToME or Crow's gift from last night (Celtic Kings, if you'e wondering).

But probably ToME, as the other would require downloading and installing...

Good evening. =)

Sounds like you've had a hell of a day.

The bathroom thing is making me think of a roommate filling a container in the tub, forgetting the plug was in, getting distracted and halfway flooding the bathroom before they realized what was happening.

Always fun when hipwaders are appropriate indoor attire.

Can't complain here, but sorry to hear that it was another day below expectations financially.
(Don't mention firebombing the competition's cooking gear, don't mention it...=X)

What's that? Something about fireworks? Okay, sure, why not. Change the subject? Absolutely, moving on.

Honestly, Ghost's burritos sound way more appealing than the ham to me.
I'll send you and yours a few once we get the long-range food delivery logistics worked out. =)

Hey Crow,

It's been dribbling for days and we just thought it was nothing (it tends to leak a little if you put a heavy load in it) but when I came into the kitchen tonight I could feel the floor squelching... which is never a good sign.

Glad to hear you're ok. Today was much better than yesterday, just no where near the level of what we made last year.
Nah, one of the guys was really nice (the other was selling ridiculously over priced coffee and seemed a bit of a prat) so I don't begrudge them the business. They were new too, first large event, so I'm just happy they did well today too.

I don't know, burritos sound good but I really love home cooked ham...

Right. That walking around in a drenched sneaker sound is never good when it's flooring.

Okay, fair enough. Don't mind me. It's cheerleading drenched in negativity, one of my talents.
The third person does sound like a jackass, though.

Ham's not bad, but I could make a better burrito, by far. All the ham that's available at the store has enough sodium injected into it to raise your blood pressure from across the room, let alone when you actually eat it.

Home cooking, ingredient control, better ingredients in general, better food overall.

I didn't really talk to the other guy, but from what I heard and saw that sounds a fair assessment.
Honestly Crow, I wouldn't expect anything else ;)

But ham is supposed to be salty... anyway, you should soak it for 24 hours before cooking (or so I've been told) if it's too salty and it should be better.
We boil ours in apple juice and cider and then roast it with a honey mustard spiced glaze.

You'll have trouble convincing him after he had gammon (salt pork) steaks the other night. :-)
That's like eating a slab of bacon.

Dang, what a day; sorry it's not been more rewarding and less eventful; hope I didn't jinx you with my wishes. :/

Wine was a wise decision, drinking some myself here. :-)

Yes, I see that. You've set the bar too high for the rest of us. ;-)

It's been raining all freaking day, which made me a bit melancholic. To balance that out, I played The Dig, but only for a couple of hours as I had a surprise visit which was rather nice too.
