EndreWhiteMane: Hi Fearful, OK here. How about you?
Pretty good. Inadvertently ended up being an amateur plumber this week after my housemates destroyed a sink, which didn't exactly turn out perfectly, but we comforted ourselves with ice cream. Otherwise, it's been pretty quiet.

ElTerprise: Moin ^^. Doing great here :). How are you?
Hey to you too! Good to hear you're doing well, I'm fine too. :)

ElTerprise: Hello and welcome :). Live Chat would actually be nice. No hating here!
Call me old-fashioned but this thread makes me yearn for the good old times of IRC, with the hours and days of lurking and the nice and /or meaningful conversations. And of course slapping people with a big large trout ;-)

Fortysixter: Hi all
Nice to find a thread with fellow gamers who aren't hating on each other.
Shame it's not a "live chat" forum :)
Hello!
Indeed, it is very nice. It's literally the only thread I read on the entire internet :-) Somehow, it is full of people that are just too damn pleasant (if there is such as being "too" pleasant...)

Hello Fearful, Tom. (and good night, Tom!)

Now you have to enlighten me as a have absolutely no idea of IRC (possible that i'm too young?) or do i miss something important here?

Ixamyakxim: LOL just saw this - I get a kick out of that too! (pointing out the total need to restort to copy / paste to get anything near a semblance of my name).
So I've been wondering, because I'm sure you said something similar in the Mafia game, why do you use it as a username if you can't remember it yourself?

ZenWan: Tried 3 times to get this reply to post this morning, before I gave up and saved it. I'll try to get it to work now...

Thank you for the kind remarks about my writing - no, I don't write in any professional way, just posts here and there. I tried it once, but I am always crippled by perfectionism and the dilemma of never knowing what to add or what to take away, so it ended up taking forever to get even one page done.

I'll leave the writing to Ghostwriter, who seems to be doing well. :-)
Sounds like me to be honest. I do have aspirations to write a novel at some point (just like I want to make a game at some point) but my last attempt stopped short and I haven't really picked it up again yet. But I've got two pretty well developed worlds waiting around to be used.

ZenWan: I don't know why I said anything good about Spanish bread, because I dislike it intensely. It's strangely dry and biscuity, with no taste at all. But if you found the cornmeal bread, which the Portuguese also make, then that would be better. Local bakers are always the best ones to look for, mass-produced anything is not something I enjoy.

Nando's is originally a South African company, started by someone who wanted to try to reproduced the chicken he ate here in Portugal. (There is a huge Portuguese population in SA). Now it's a very successful company in many countries, except in Portugal, where I believe it didn't do well at all. I suppose people already had the 'real thing'. I've never tasted their chicken, but it's supposed to be very good.

Still looking forward to trying one of your pizzas - maybe one day when you branch out and have franchises all over the world....

A quick hello to all of you before I must run. Busy day today, with no time for posting. I hope that all is well in your worlds. :-)
It was definitely the cornmeal bread, I've tried to replicate it myself a few times without success. Can't say I had any other experience with Spanish bread.

Nando's is ok, a bit expensive and nothing particularly special but a lot better than some fast food chains. Yours sounds much better :D

Well, we can always hope :)

Anyway, just stopped in quickly to read the thread and say hello, off to bed now.

Speak to you all tomorrow!

I feel old...

Ok, for the academics see here

But how it really was:
Create or join a channel (like i.e. #gog_conversation). Chat with people for weeks enthusiastically.
As senior, withdraw to the background. If you are the creator of the channel, maybe install a bot that keeps the channel alive, welcomes newcomers and auto-ops you when you join in.
Become a wisecracking internet oldtimer...

You should give the National Novel Writing Month a shot, writing 1667 words a day for a month is a pretty good way to really get it together and finish a book.. :)

EndreWhiteMane: Anybody catch what Gunny was upset about yesterday?
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/conversational_freeforall_thread/post24111
Nope. No idea what was happening and he did not say anything. Haven't seen him since then. Hope he is ok and will be back soon.

My big IRC time was between 1995 and 1999 after which I switched to ICQ due to peer pressure. Alas, it still holds a very dear place in my heart. Just like Usenet. And HTML 1.0.

I was kid back then without real knowledge of the internet. Definitely too young for this. But nevertheless interesting.

Hmm... did not see something like that yesterday, perhaps I missed it, since while I read a lot of threads here I do not read all of them :D
