CarrionCrow: I'd rather be selfish than miserable. -laughs-

JDelekto: That's your choice, but not one I envy. Good luck when you need the help of others'.
I can be there for other people. Just not seeing the appeal of having a sickening crotchspawn to deal with.

j0ekerr: So now that I've finished broken age, freedom planet and Indy 4, I refuse to re-install Dark Souls again. I have to quit that game, like Crow is quitting coffee.

Now taking suggestions on what game I should play next.
Dragonshard? ;)

You're the first to get the plane ticket near the emergency exit with all the leg room, right?

Nah, that'd be pointless. If something's going to go catastrophically wrong on a plane, where you're sitting probably isn't going to matter much.

I think it would be much sadder to have children if you don't want them, that's miserable for everyone. Besides, as Crow has pointed out, just because you don't have children doesn't mean you can't have friends or other family.

Or adoption, people tend to forget that.

Good point! It's easy to see that children are not always there when you need their help, that's the way of the world. Friends or other family are often far more reliable.

Besides, children take up gaming time, right, Crow?
<evil grin>

To each his own, some people want children, others don't, nothing wrong with that. Of course some people who want them shouldn't have them at all, but that's another story.

Hi everyone, whatever time of the day or night it is for you where you are.

Very true, giving a loving home to unwanted children is always a good thing.

I agree with this. There is no use in having children if you don't want any. This will just make everyone unhappy and that is not how children should grow up, feeling unwanted.

I think in my case, it's a matter where just the thought alone of reproducing makes me nauseated.

And yes, I know, my parents had to do that. I get the whole perpetuation of the species thing.
(Bringing this up because it was mentioned a bit ago.)
Doesn't stop me from telling my mother she's a dumbass for doing it. -laughs-

Also, adoption is a completely viable option. People want to think they're special, that they just need to make little copies of themselves, so they can live on in a way after they're corpses, and then they start spawning the little creatures like there's no tomorrow.
But there are already plenty of kids around because a lot of shitty, shitty adults who should have been forcibly sterilized got together and pumped out children by the countryful.
Those kids get second billing because people can't get the same ego boost raising those kids as they can by spawning their own.

-shakes head- So many people are so godsdamned stupid. They shouldn't breed. Ever. And yet they do.

(Apologies, Zenwan. Kinda went off on a tangent or three, slammed all my scattered thoughts into one post, then replied it over to you.
You're not on the hot seat for my contempt/disgust/sour stomach at it all. Promise. =) )

Took a deep look inside myself and discovered that:

1.) I agree that those who who don't want children shouldn't have them.
It partially makes up for the a-holes who have 12 just to collect bigger welfare checks.

2.) I'm the BatMan.

In a better world, those people would be bludgeoned like baby seals before they could spawn another wave of eventual victims for them to fuck up, fuck over, irrevocably damage and then set upon the planet.

Hi, Batman. I'm an eyeball who's a crow who's a koala bear who's some tired gibbering weirdo person.
Masks are fun. -laughs-

Tacking on a request - please be Michael Keaton Batman if at all possible. Pound for pound, he's the best.

Mornin' Crow, and everyone! ;)
Some pretty heavy conversation this morning, and yes I often find things inside myself that surprise the crap out of me. ;-)

Good morning. =)

Yeah...even with a few hundred games, the brain still gnaws away at stuff despite all efforts at distraction.

(Seriously loving the backspace key right now. Was just about to load up with another bunch of questions about more random heavy shit. Bad fingers, bad!)

This can become a touchy topic. I will say Eugenics is still a real thing that exists even now, and still a major factor in different parts of the world. And it seeps into peoples brains and makes them start to think everyone not like them is a total waste of space and parts.

But back to adoption.

It is the idea that the "undesirables" are the ones siring all these kids make adoption a icky idea to a lot of people. I am more partial to the nurture side of the debate, as I have several friends who now are successful both financially and socially, that are kind, compassionate and loving towards their families and friends, and take responsibility for themselves and their actions, whose birth parents, well, didn't. But their adoptive parents gave them a chance, and a good home. Not to imply a religious good home or something akin to that, though some did. Just a good, safe, welcoming and supportive home.

Granted, some others are right jerks, and that might just be because they were spoiled rotten or something else happened.
