CarrionCrow: Additional - Despite the shit I've been talking about Bravely Default (totally justified by the way, I am sick to death of multiplayer shit being stitched into solid singleplayer games like some conjoined fetus nightmare that needs to be killed with fire), I'm really liking some of the other aspects.
With my squad of 3 people, I can start off a fight with 12 attacks, so long as I'm willing to take the risk that the enemies won't die. At that point, they get 3 free rounds to beat the crap out of me since I burned four rounds worth of turns already.
Also, having a slider bar so you can control the encounter rate? Frigging awesome. If I want to grind, I can turn it up. If I'm getting my ass kicked, I can shut it off and scurry back to town to heal up.
And of course, the job system continues to be one of the very best things Square ever came up with.
adaliabooks: Good, glad you are enjoying it, I'd feel bad having talked it up if you didn't at least like the combat system.
The Brave / Default system is fun, but it does end up game breaking sometimes (but that being said, there are enough hard enemies, even in the random encounters, that it's never really a complete walk over). But that combined with the encounter rate slider means grinding is so much more fun (plus the fact you can just auto battle, so once you find a tactic that works you can speed through battles and grind loads).
I think Bravely Default is the only game I ever maxed out every class on every character...
ElTerprise: Definitely. But atleast i have a laptop for backup if something happens...
BTW there is no gogdownloader for linux right? i haven't seen anything like it....
adaliabooks: I was sure there was an unofficial one somewhere... let me see if I can dig it up for you :)
Good morning. =)
You don't ever have to feel badly about recommending something and me finding something to bitch about with it.
As luck would have it, I'm kinda good at that. -laughs-
I'm getting enough of a FF Tactics vibe from it all that it's making me happy on that level, so it's fine.
Granted, I'm still on the basic classes, and I keep having the urge to scream "I have the power!" when they hold up a new asterisk like they're He-Man invoking the power of Greyskull, and I kinda keep screaming for characters to shut the fuck up when they start going into their third or fourth jag of talking at length, and I've started calling crystal girl Onions to the point that I refer to her as that as I sit here mocking the dialogue in general, but it's enjoyable enough.
That's a chunk of how my night's going. How're you doing today?
j0ekerr: Welcome Tom, what sort of enemy will you be facing?
toxicTom: Dirty dishes, general chaos, and later the Dinner boss fight ;-)
CarrionCrow: Next fall on the Food Network, it's Battlefield Kitchen. Watch as contestants cook fabulous meals while being shot at with real bullets, pelted with shrapnel and occasionally doused in napalm!
Sorry...that's what came to mind. -laughs-
toxicTom: LOL, even worse: watch as the contestants struggle while they are pestered by wives and children all demanding attention and raising the workload by adding mundane chores...
So your day right now is kinda like a real life version of some Popcap time management game like Cake Mania, where more and more complications get added when all you want to do is make some frigging food.
No wonder you're tired so much. ;)
