CarrionCrow: Damn it, Pillars...

I really can't afford you, not even sure if my computer will run you. So why do you keep taunting me!?!?!

(This bears mentioning - I am not looking for anyone to gift this to me at any point. If a ninja gifter sees this and gets the idea, this is fair warning - I will end up gifting you back the same amount in other items, if not more.)

zenwan: <laughing>

That's just how I feel. I haven't even tried Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale yet, those are still sitting on my wishlist, so I'm sure I should get to them first. From that point of view another good sale will help.
The spring one does seem to have a lot of Double Insomnia repeats - just as well, I guess, as the last time I tried to use my credit card, it asked for asylum.

How are you doing with the vow of abstinence? That's admirable, but very hard to do all at once. I managed to quit smoking long ago, but never coffee. Although I did read that it's easy to quit smoking if your body is less acid, and coffee makes it acid, so perhaps you are right. Try putting some lemon juice in the water you're now drinking, to help the alkaline balance along?
Good luck!
Good morning. =)

If you don't mind a bit of a wait, the D&D Classic bundle is pretty much a mainstay of any large GOG sale, so it should be back around in June.
Less than 30 dollars for 9 games that will provide hundreds of hours of enjoyable gameplay, it's one of the best consistent bundles that GOG puts out.

Yes, it seems like the publishers of some titles are a bit more strapped for cash, so they're putting their items up repeatedly to try to wring whatever coin they can get from them.

Ups and downs. Being hooked on both for decades isn't helping when it comes to breaking the pattern, but I'll get there.
All else fails, I'll lock myself in a room with a nicotine patch for emergencies and no stimulants for a week or two.
Should help to get over the initial bumpy part then.
For me, it feels like caffeine ingestion (coffee, soda, or both) works with the nicotine addiction symbiotically.
They mesh together almost eerily well, to the point that trying to engage in one without the other just doesn't work.

I'm sure there's a link in the ritual behavioral pattern of drinking coffee first thing in the morning along with smoking, getting your chemical levels back up after sleeping, making the two go hand in hand to the person who's addicted.

Thank you for the kindness and the suggestion. Willing to try just about anything that isn't blatantly self-destructive to help take the edge off. -laughs-

Doing ok :-) The weather is a bit annoying, I wanted to go ouside for a bit, but it is raining *urgh* :D
How about you?

Same here. It's been raining for two days now, almost non-stop, and I heard it will be a rainy spring this year.

Well, it's cool outside, but definitely not raining. I live in one of those "Hey look, it's a ten year drought" kind of places, so rain is a comparative rarity.

Sucks that you got rained out of what you felt like doing, though. Hopefully it'll clear up so you can get out for a bit before the work week stuff starts back up.

Eh...kinda weird here. Little bit on the odd side.
Maybe it's just me, I don't know if this happens to other people, but I'm feeling kinda talkative, only talkative in that way where it feels like I'm not the same person while I'm talking.
So I'm sitting here, in between watching some comedy special on Netflix, in between playing Bravely Default, thinking, "Wow, that doesn't even sound like you."
But it has to sound like me, since I'm the one saying it.
It's not like I have a pack of semi-trained chimps occasionally taking over the keyboard and jotting their thoughts on whatever down when they feel like it.
So...yeah. That's how my very early morning's going. -laughs-

Yeah. First tons of snow this winter and now a lot of rain. It is a bit annoying especially since during the week it was sunny here and now on the weekend it changed to rain :D

*big hug* I know what you mean. This does sometimes happen to me, not often but once in a while. Really irritating.

Yeah...it gets kind of weird and frustrating and a little disconcerting as well.

Sorry if I'm getting overly personal, but I have to ask, how does it tend to come out when it happens to you?

Actually, never mind that one. It's either too frigging early or too late or too rainy or too something for deep in-depth questions on a Sunday morning. -laughs-

It is hard to explain. When it happens I find myself doing something or saying/thinking something that is not like me at all. It is getting really weird when I realise it, a bit like I am oberserving myself and thinking "what the heck am I doing". Which makes it really weird in case I was just thinking of something, like I am thinking differently then normal and at the same time realising it and thinking how weird it is.
I don't know if that makes any sense to you, but I also don't know how to explain it better.

Too late I already tried some answer :P

Honestly? That makes perfect sense.

Now attempting to think of a way to describe that.
Here's what I've got.

It's like...all the chunks and bits and pieces and processes that make you you, everything that fuses together and interacts to make up what you see as yourself, every now and then one of those pieces breaks off and floats up to the surface, so much so that rather than feeling like who and what you are, you not only get that but you also get the other thing.

Kinda like if you've got headphones on, and it goes from having the same sound in both ears, to having classic in your right ear and rock music in your left at the same time.

And since you're used to having one conglomeration that makes up you, you've still got that, but you've also got that fragment bouncing around for a bit and saying things in a way that doesn't adhere to your overall view of yourself at all.

And yeah, I'm not surprised. My timing tends to be shit at the best of times, so of course I threw that out there too late. -laughs-

But it also makes us sound a bit crazy :P

Crazy's all a matter of degree, so that's not any big thing.

Pick people apart enough, get down to the guts of them, and you'll in all likelihood find something that could be described as crazy.

That might not apply to everyone, but in my experience, it's the case about 99.999999 percent of the time.
So yeah, there might be someone in Malaysia, or Iceland, or some remote place, who's the ultimate paragon of mental stability and clarity in all things.
But odds are, no one will ever meet them.

So it ends up boiling down to the falling tree in a forest with no one to hear it fall question - if someone actually isn't insane in some way, but you never see them so your entire view of the world is that of it being filled to burst from one end to the other with varying flavors of madness, does it even matter anymore?
Would you even recognize it if you saw it?
Have you just blown out whatever base reality there ever was and replaced it with your own utterly and completely?

Good morning. =)

Hopefully your project is proceeding smoothly. I envy your ability, I keep saying I want a dual boot with 8 and XP, but I'm pretty much certain I'd torch everything and turn my tower into a paperweight in the process.

I'm not sure how it'll work. But Windows 8.1 is already working took it's yesterday installing updates which hindered me from installing ubuntu. We'll see. And i use a step-by-step tutorial for it.

And: What could possibly go wrong? :P

The fear of getting a paperweight discouraged me to put a custom rom on my phone yet....but i'm confident in case of my computer :).
