LaPtiteBete: It's good to hear that she's recovering well... I cross my fingers so she can come back home pretty soon :-)
** Huge happy weekend hug **
Thank you. *big thank you hug*

Have you had a nice day so far? How is the weather in France? Hyper is still longing for a nice sunny day, but so far no luck.

ddickinson: I promised not to climb around and work on the greenhouse, which I am not doing, so I am taking care of it somewhat. But I still have work to do, and little pain will not stop that.

Sorry to hear you have a splitting headache. It's a shame you don't like hugs, as I could offer a comforting hug. Comforting hand shakes just don't sound that effective.
At least try to use your other arm more whenever and wherever possible.

No need to be sorry; I've trained myself to function just fine with a headache, no matter how bad it is, as I don't like taking painkillers and never do for headaches. It will pass eventually.

Who said I don't like hugs? I enjoy them very much, but I'm very selective, even with the virtual ones; as everything I read transforms into images in my head.
But thanks, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and support.

My best to your mother when you see her.

Come now, I would hope you had enough faith in me to know to use my other arm when I can. I may act a little silly on the forum but I am quite capable in the real world. :-)

So I mention how I have a high threshold for pain and that I don't like taking painkillers and everyone tell me off, but you do it and you seem to think it is fine. Interesting. :-)

Thank you for your well wishes. I hope you will feel better soon, and hopefully the sun will decide to show itself for you soon.
Hey everyone, caught up during short break fron work, you've all been busy again today!

Glad dd anf her mother are feeling better, I hope for a swift recovery for you both.

It's an all day job at work today and the weather is awful here. Keep hoping it might clear up but the rain is relentless. Still, did ok this morning so hopefully should have a busy and productive evening.

JDelekto: At the sake of being shunned, I have to say this. Easter Sunday is coming soon and I haven't been to church in decades. My wife wants to get an "Easter Basket" for my granddaughter, but I didn't think it was appropriate for her to condition her to getting gifts if there could not be any 'meaning' behind them.
Why would you be shunned? IMHO, these things are of very personal/ private nature; who's to say how one chooses to go about them?
Rest assured, no-one's going to judge you here.

ElTerprise: Has anyone here a recommendation for a good tool to indentify doublicate files. I'm currently backing up my system and i realized that i have lots of duplicates *sigh*
That depends really, but no tool is 100% reliable, in my experience. Do your duplicate files have the same name, are they of the same size, but stored at different places on your drive? Do you know why and how you ended up with duplicates in different places?

I've had satisfying results with SearchMyFiles by NirSoft.
But you can take a look here for a few more suggestions and decide for yourself.

Hello, adalia!

Sorry to hear the weather is awful for you. *looks up at the beautiful blue sky and enjoys the nice sun* :-)

I hope things will pick up for you and I hope you have a great day at work. I might just have to make some pizza when I get home. Every time you mention your work I get a craving for some home made pizza. :-)

Thank you very much. Will look into them. Could be useful when i copy the files back on the new system as i backed up all files for now and started the Re-Installation.

I have lots of duplicate files because i actually never took my time to double check my old backups and because i usually have my file on both my PC and my laptop etc.

One could say i have real great organizing abilities :P

Edit: SearchMyFiles looks promising. I'll try it out on my laptop

I still think adalia should drive to Switzerland and deliver you some fresh made pizza. How else will we know his pizzas are as good as he says. :-)

I just checked my kitchen and I don't have everything needed to make pizza dough :-(

Seems like I must find something different to make for dinner.

I have no doubt that you're quite capable, but sometimes people are so used to do things with a certain arm/ hand and find it difficult to switch to the other, or instinctively just go to use their "good" arm/ hand. For example, I can't for the life of me unscrew bottle cups or peel boiled eggs and potatoes with my right hand. This is of course an example of no matter, but when it comes to heavier physical work, an injured arm may prove to be a serious obstacle. So, take what I said as a simple reminder, nth more was insinuated.

You don't seriously compare an arm injury with a headache here, do you? It is fine when one gets headaches as easily and often as I do; it's called protecting one's system from getting used to them so one still has effective options when needed.
Since you don't rest your arm as you should (yes, I'm sure you don't, no point in arguing about it), taking your prescribed meds and applying the cream is a must in your case, if for no other reason than to prevent it from getting worse.

I think that makes two of us not having pizza. I forgot that today was Saturday. So I guess I will have to have pizza another day.

That's no problem, I'm ambidexterity, so I can use both equally. Although I prefer my left for writing, not quote sure why when I can write with both. But I know not to over do it, especially when I know what would happen if I made my arm worse. It is strapped up and I have been using the medication, and only doing less physical work today. I do intend to get the greenhouse roof finally finished next week, but I will of course be taking it easy. And I know you were not insinuating anything, and I appreciate the reminder. I really do know my limitations when it comes to injuries, kind of. :-)

I am not taking all of my medication, just the cream, I am leaving the painkillers. The arm is actually very painful at times, but I do not like painkillers. I have been in much worse pain that lasted much longer than this will, so it will be fine. I tend to heal quickly and I know that in a week or so it will be on the mend and I can use it like I would normally.

But I must say, I like how sweet and caring everyone is, the thread is just full of softies :-). I like it, I think it shows just how kind and caring you all are. *big hug for Hyper*

I don't know, I won't find out until I get home. Saturday night is the only full night I get to spend with my partner where I don't have to worry about being up early the next day for work, so we normally have a nice romantic night and a candle lit dinner together.
