l0rdtr3k: MMOs are a nice distraction if the business model is done right.
avatar
genkicolleen: Noooo, evil I say! MMO's will suck your life force by consuming all of your time! Sleep, food, time with family? Gone! Must be online with friends doing x-quest now!

;p
Can't you give PWI or Ragnarok a try? They're pretty good.
avatar
ElTerprise: Damn :). You got me. When there's enough time and money i'll buy the game.
Search youtube for tequatl, claw of jormag, and the shatterer. Those are some of the many open world boss fights. And they'll give you a rough idea of how such events happen in GW2.

Sweet of you to ask, buy in all seriousness, I really can't do any game that you can't pause, as I have tooooo many demands on my time!

ddickinson: Good evening, everyone!

I hope you have all been behaving yourselves while I was away? It's great to see Agent back on the thread again!

*big hugs and silly waves*
Actually, we used the opportunity to do lots of naughty things - no, don't twist my arm, I can't go into any details.

But I can try to make you feel a bit better - [url=https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Et_yw3xo9MY/T9EW4Z_OigI/AAAAAAAAC0w/d7azQzNA1WU/s400/cat-hugs-stuffed-animal-gif.gif]what I've got for you.

Is your mother in intensive care?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Behaving? Kinda sorta. And yes, it's always good to see people back after they've been away for a bit.

How's your day been going? How's your mother feeling?
avatar
ddickinson: Good evening, Crow! *big hug*

I have had better days, but I am okay. My mothers's operation could have gone better, but then it could have also gone much worse, so overall I would say okay. The actual operation went fine, but she did not react well the the drugs and had some difficulty coming out of anesthesia. She stopped breathing for a brief moment, but luckily the anaesthetist was very good at his job. She has to stay in for longer than we thought so that they can run some tests and make sure everything else is okay. So not the best of operations, but as I said, it could have been a lot worse.

I also hurt my arm while at hospital. I saw a pregnant woman looking as though she was unwell and quiet pale. As I walked towards her to see if she was okay she collapsed and fell forward. Luckily I was close enough to catch her, but all her weight went on my bad arm. But at least I was able to stop her falling and hitting her head, even if it did make my arm hurt a lot.

I am feeling a bit worn out today.

How are you tonight? I hope you are doing well?

AgentBirdnest: DD! Good evening! *big hug*

How are you doing? How is your mother?
And how is your arm?
avatar
ddickinson: Hello, Agent! *big welcome back hug*

Please see my answer to Crow above regarding my mum and my arm. As for me, well I am doing okay.

How are you? Are you glad to be back?

Hello and hugs/waves to everyone else as well!
Sheesh...sounds like you've had a hell of a day.

Will keep fingers crossed that your mother is feeling better and out of the frigging hospital soon.

Dang it, pregnant lady, couldn't you have fallen on D's good arm?
(Kidding, kidding. Even I'm not enough of an asshole to want to see some woman smash her skull on the floor. You've just got more than enough to deal with already, no need for aggravated injuries to boot.)

Jeez... And you still have the energy to come here and talk to us? You are crazy (in a good way!)

I'm certainly glad things weren't worse for your mother. But wow, that is really frightening :-/ ... I hope she will be able to make a quick recovery.
And sorry about your arm, but excellent work on saving that woman!! :-O

Have an *extra big comfort hug*

I'm doing quite well. Very glad to be back. It was far too boring being away from all my friends! :-)

Good evening DD !!!
So glad to see you back !
Relieving that the operation went (mostly) well... Sorry about your arm... :-( ... at least you've done a great service to this poor pregnant woman... but, well... (Wonder-DD !!!) ;-p
Not surprised that you feel worn out... Hopefully a good night of resting sleep will make up for this... will you sleep in a little tomorrow ?

Hello, Hyper! *big wave*

Thank you for the cute pictures. I am more of a dog person, but cats can be cute as well.

My mum is on the high observation ward, not quite serious enough yet to be on the intensive care ward, but they are worried she could end up there if she doesn't improve. Hopefully a good nights rest and some medication will help improve things, but they said it will be several days before she can come home, and only if she improves.

How are you tonight? Has the weather improved for you?

My arm is okay, it's more painful than it was, but I don't regret it. These things happen, it's not like the lady just thought it would be fun to faint. It took her a few minutes to wake up and she was really worried about the baby. She was okay, just a little shaken. I got a very nice muffin from her as a thank you. :-)

Hello, Owl! *big hug*

Thank you, it is nice to relax a bit on the forum.

No sleep in for me tomorrow, I work most Saturdays. I do have Sunday to sleep in, which I am looking forward to.

How are you tonight? Are you looking forward to the weekend? Do you have anything nice planned?

I am sure it will be fine. I just jarred it a little. A good nights rest and some more ice on it tomorrow will probably help a lot.

You did a good thing. Also, willing to bet you'd have done the exact same thing even if your arm had been fully broken at the time.
All smartassed commentary aside, it's good that the lady ended up being okay. Kinda troubling that she could be passed out for minutes with no hospital personnel helping her, though.

I think you are right. I did not even consider my arm, I just saw her falling and went to help. I guess if my arm was broken I would have still done it. I would have done the same for anyone, pregnant or not. I am back at doctors tomorrow to get it looked at again, just to make sure nothing is damaged. It was in a waiting area, which is why there were no doctors or nurses around until one passed through and helped get the lady up and found her a bed. The lady suffers from something, but I can't remember what she said it was, but it can make her light headed, and she said being pregnant makes it worse sometimes.

Hello, Endre! *big hug*

Thank you. Would now be a good time to say I still have some work to do on the greenhouse tomorrow? :-)

Having my arm like this has slowed me down a little, as I was hoping to have this greenhouse finished this week.

How are you? I hope you are feeling better? If not, have lots and lots of hugs.

*lots and lots of hugs for Endre*
