Hello guvs! long time no see! *hugs everyone* :)

ddickinson: The wind got so strong that it knocked some of the metal framework onto my arm. It's not broken, thankfully, but it will bruise and probably start to swell up. But as long as it doesn't stop me using it then it's okay.
Hooooooooowwww :-( ... poor DD !!! Take care, still... even if it's not broken... ,',,'',,',,',',,',:-\

toxicTom: I so tired, I'm on the other side... Amazingly enough I managed to get a lot of work done anyway.
My wife is slowly improving, instead the little one sounded like she gargled with rusty nails this morning - the pesthole called family - but fortunately apart from that she was in a good mood (rare enough these days).
Hi, Toxic Tom ! :)
Glad to read you're ok, and that your wife is recovering...

And also, good day, *hugs and waves* to all those I didn't see popping up...

I've been quite busy, next to loads of work for school I'm trying to learn a thing or two about music on my own as well.

Currently I'm downloading old all time favourite cossacks from GOG for another run.

But I feel well in my skin (that's a dutch saying), and got a few good grades last week :)

is everyone over here okay to?
On the anniversary of both the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, and the dust explosion in mine no.5 in Centralia, let us reflect on how well both industries reformed after these tragedies and how no one burns to death in garment factories or mines that rack up repeated safty violations.

ddickinson: Ah, I forgot you might have missed our little silliness before when we were deciding on different nations hugs. If I remember correctly, German hugs were like regular hugs, but with a hint of Bratwurst to it (all the hugs were food related, relating to the country of the hugs). :-)
avatar
toxicTom: Seems I missed something. I want my hugs with Bratwurst and Sauerkraut then... How are English hugs?
Those from the dutch across the border have a flavour of dairy produce. Here in Belgium it's mostly a mix of alchohol, chocolate and fries. Although near the coast the odd sailor has a tinge of fresh seafood :p

I'll have beer with the Bratwurst and Sauerkraut too ;-)

I wouldn't know if those two would go well together (never touched a drop of alchohol, not intending to either ;p), but sauerkraut and Bratwurst are lovely in their own right.

The best meal I've ever had was in Germany; they served it in the little pan they'd prepared it in. On the bottom, a layer of mashed potatoes with a golden crust, over that, the juicy sauerkraut with the bradwurst neatly cut in beautifully baked slices. It was called "sauerkrautlauffen" I think.

And of course, the german pastry (sometimes overlooked, but oh my)

A flavour of dairy produce? I didn't realize our cheese/milk addictions were that bad. :P

Sauerkrautauflauf (-casserole)? Sounds good. :-)

I really love Berlioz, Saint Seans, Debussy, Faure, Satie, Bizet and Widor. They go very well with a quiet evening, a cup of tea and yes, a few pralines :)

sometimes a bit of good music just makes the whole picture come together splendidly (unfortunately my housemates protest whenever something that goes for music in my opinion is put up that isn't beethoven or mozart. and let those two be the most frightful bores in my collection -_-)

It isn't necessarily a bad thing you know. Dutch cheese (gouda, mm) and yoghurt (including VLA) are the best available in these parts of Belgium ;)

but, of course, I couldn't let such an opportunity to make fun of our rulers of old simply pass by, could I?

True, those things are rather tasty. And that's an interesting way of looking at it! :P

Your chocolate is quite popular over here as well. :)

I don't know Saint Seans nor Widor... I listened to a bit of Alfred Schnittke and it sounds really good :) I don't know much about classical (not "so" classical) music... my favorite is Chopin...
[edit] and Jordi Savall

u__u ... I love when I'm alone in the office and can play some music...
