EndreWhiteMane: Ask your vet about something called "Sevin" dust. It's primarily used as a food crop insecticide because it's not toxic to mammals.
I've used it in the past in the pets bedding, carpets and such to rid them of fleas. Diatomaceous Earth is another safe and effective treatment.
We don't have a regular vet yet due to our not-wonderful financial situation. -.- Thank you for the recommendation, though. I'll be looking into those, since something that I can put down and let go, rather than something that makes me tie myself into knots every few days, sounds like an excellent option at this point.
Okay, I'm back, thankfully.

Went to make dinner, and got reminded of why I don't watch television.

Two more seconds of a roommate watching the freaks with 19 spawn, and I'd be ready to throw a brick through the screen.

You got back just in time to tuck me in, it's been a lovely day and I'm going to go see if I can dream about something other than idiotic bureaucrats. :-)
I'll see you tomorrow.
It seems that my beloved computer has died ;_;
<--currently on hubby's computer

I was hoping to upgrade my computer for my birthday (end of May,) but it looks like it's going to have to happen sooner rather than later :( I should look at this as a good thing, and I do, but I sure did love my old computer! I don't know how long I'll be unable to play my games, which sucks, but there's no helping it.

I don't know whether it's the motherboard, the hard drives, or the graphics card (or some combination of all of these,) but on the plus side, I have family members who actually understand these things and can help me out! ^__^

Ah well, I certainly have other things that I need to be doing~! I can't use this computer for long periods because the setup makes my shoulders hurt, but I'll still be able to pop in when I'm at work.

Ugh...let's hope so, unless those dreams involve you chasing them down the street in a burning ice cream truck or something.
Have a good night, sleep well when you get there, and hopefully a better day tomorrow.

Wonderful...
Yay for the eventual upgrade, but losing it in the meantime frigging sucks.
Hopefully one of the relatives will come back and say that it isn't an expensive fix that's needed, since a few minutes at work isn't a great substitute for all the time freedom.

Hopefully, but it's not the end of the world (sure is nerve-wracking not to have your computer running, though!) At least I can get on this computer and keep in touch, even if I can't play my games. :)

Yes, that's true. Definite bright side there.
Also, you are absolutely right about the "joy" of your computer being broken. The more you use it, the more you want to freak out when it doesn't work.
(Fingers seriously crossed about the relative coming through with good news regarding it.)

EndreWhiteMane: Glad to see you and I share your love for Mr Holmes.
I've been very lucky about fleas, I put drops and a collar on both the dog and the cat and haven't been bothered by them yet. (crossing fingers)

penumbren: My love for Sherlock Holmes is accepted, if not fully understood, by my husband. *grins*

I'm not excited about putting flea collars on the cats, after reading far too much about the not-uncommon side effects they can cause in cats in particular (fur loss, sores, seizures, poisoning) and the fact that one of the cats is allergic to the flea bites to the point that she's covered in small scabs on her neck, which the collar would only make worse. I'm just about willing to go buy some if this latest treatment we're trying doesn't work, but I'm giving it a bit before we move on to that step.
Hi Endre, Penumbren - another Sherlock Holmes lover here, my father used to read the stories to us every night before bedtime, even the scary ones. I think I know most of them practically off by heart by now. I really like Sherlock, think that the team of Cumberbatch and Freeman are wonderful. I enjoyed the series starring Jeremy Brett as well.

Penumbren, I haven't had time to read through all the posts, but this one caught my eye. I wouldnt recommend flea collars at all, from what I have read they are toxic and dangerous. Natural remedies include washing your cat with Dawn soap, using a few drops of teatree or lavender oil (very much diluted in a safe oil like almond or olive) on the cat's collar, and also including apple cider vinegar and / or garlic in the cat's food or water, if the cat will tolerate that. Fleas supposedly hate the smell.

To get rid of fleas in the house, try this method, it really works:

http://www.wikihow.com/Eliminate-Fleas-from-Your-Home-for-Free

Also try to keep the house relatively dry, as fleas love humidity. Depends where you live, I guess, because dehumidifiers are expensive.

Just edited out my next post, I hate that GOG tries to push them all into one box. Grrrr

Good morning GOG.com!
Good morning / evening Crow - it's coming up for 5am and I'm enjoying my coffee. :-)

Hope you enjoyed tucking Endre in. <very big grin>

What game did you settle on playing? I am planning on finding something peaceful and calming, where I don't have to think. Had a not good day yesterday, and worst of all was the news of that German plane crash - 150 people, including 2 babies and 16 schoolchildren, wiped out in a flash.
Terrible.

Hope you are ok. I couldn't agree more about disliking TV, although I have been catching some reruns of Numb3rs, a series I didn't know before but I'm enjoying it now.

Waiting to post this so it doesn't get added to my previous post, I hate it when GOG does that without asking. :-(
At least I managed to log in properly this morning, and even posted something that didn't disappear. And no bears so far, things are looking up. Making sure to save my posts, though.

Crow tucking you in? That must have been a sight to behold. ;-)

Hope you are enjoying very pleasant dreams. I agree about bureaucrats, we are overpopulated with them here, and they seem to thrive on making people's lives really difficult. ;-(

So sorry to hear that, I'd be lost without my computer. I usually do my own repairs, when possible, but you are lucky to have someone to help, and at least a computer to use to keep in touch. My laptop is old and slow, so more frustrating than anything else, but at least I could use it to throw in the old post if I needed to.

Hope to hear good news about your computer soon, so that you can be back to playing games again.

Talking to myself here, so I'll be off to look for a peaceful game to play. Wishing all of you a good day / night, perhaps we'll connect later.

Good morning! *hugs and waves*
Good Evening All:-)
Stress stress stress. Holy fuck I got a huge ball of other people's stupid drama in my life right before an important psych appointment in eleven hours. At this point I'm ready to say fuck it and pass up the restless fitful sleep I've got queued up.
