ddickinson: I have never seen the Game of Thrones series, or read the books they are based on. But I am glad you are happy to see me. *big happy hug*
The first three books were quite good, after that it started slowly to go downhill and long breaks in between were nothing is published... can be years until this series is finished if ever.
(at least that is my opinion)
Can't comment on the TV series :D

ddickinson: Good evening, lovely people! *big hugs and silly waves*

I hope you are all having a nice evening?
avatar
ElTerprise: Mostly, albeit a bit tensed as i have an important oral exam in university tomorrow.

I hope you have good evening too :).
What form does the exam take? Do you talk for half an hour, or does someone ask you questions...? It sounds a bit nerve-wracking...

Stilton: Thanks for the suggestion, Endre, but it wasn't meant to be, at least not this time. Distros can vary from release to release so I'll give it another go in the future. If it ain't broke don't fix it doesn't seem to apply in the Linux world, as I've tried Mint in the past (14, I think) and I liked it. Ho hum ;-)
*extra big hug* I hope you can find something you are happy with and that is working soon!

EndreWhiteMane: Your just jealous, with your merely 24Ds. ;)
avatar
ddickinson: How dare you have a look at my Ds. :-)

Hello, Endre! *big Endre hug*

How are you doing tonight/evening?
Doing OK, wondering if GOG would take back about 300 games.
This download thing is getting out of hand;)
Oh...
You have some lovely Ds there. :-)

That is why I switched to downloading the games and patches almost instantly since even downloading 100 games was no fun :D

Actually it's more answering questions but in a more conversational manner. And it'll probably take about an hour or more because it's the final exam for this complementary subject. And i think it could get nerve-wracking.

Well, hugs always make things better, so thank you for squeezing me ;-)

I think simplicity is probably the key here, so I've installed a much 'lighter' version of Linux, (whispers) which seems to be behaving itself so far...

So I'll keep my fingers crossed ;-)

So what is your opinion is that kind of exam better or do you prefer written exams? Because I always prefered the ones where I was talking to the Prof and answering questions. Of course I was nervous but it was much more relaxed than the written exams :D

I read a bit of the first book, but for some reason I just never enjoyed it. I have heard a few fans of the books get angry at the long waits and the authors lack of interest for the books in favour of the TV series.

I love that I know someone else who knows little about modern TV and movies as I do. I rarely watch TV or movies, and when I do it's usually older stuff I watch with my partner. I have always preferred books more. I get some very funny looks when people ask my opinion about TV series or movies and they find out I don't have a clue what they are talking about.

One of these fans might have been me. I tend to joke that the author will die before he finishes the series if he continues with this slow pace :P

Well, if your written conversation is anything to go by, you sound like you like communicating, so my guess is you'll be fine ;-) Tell us how it went and we can all celebrate together ;-)

I don't really have a preference. But i don't had too many exams in the first place as my main subject is geography which is focused a lot on presentations and seminar papers to compile.

Yeah I am just not that interested in watching TV. I almost never watch movies, sometimes some crime series (since there always is some being shown) if I just want to relax on the sofa since for them you don't need to know the episodes before :D
Oh and I sometimes watch cooking shows. Normally when I can't sleep, they are so relaxing that I most of the time end up falling asleep on the sofa :P

That's what you get for hoarding all those games. I am not sure how much bandwidth I would need for all my games.

And thank you, they are 100% real DRM-Free Ds. :-)

Ok that is great. I wished I had stuff like that. For me it was exams for everything, which tended to lead to some stressful phases :D
