HypersomniacLive: Nope, it's raining since yesterday evening here, and I'm talking about autumn-like rain. :(
And now that it's time for my lunch break it's raining cats and dogs here.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Hey Crow! Get some coffee yet? ;)
I've decided 2 things about re-downloading my games library.
1.) It's almost impossible to do all at once.
2.) I own an absolutely insane number of games. :-)
I still have 15 to go before the "D"s are done. :-O
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Righto! You'll probably want to do a little at a time, working through the alphabet
should help you to keep track of where you leave off, when you take breaks from it.

I have about 50 dvds full of downloads and mod-work I've done just for Battlefield 2,
that I'll need to archive eventually onto an external Hardrive. And dozens of more discs
of mods patches and utilities for other games I've downloaded over the years.

Right now, a little over half my games from GoG are on an external HD, the rest is
early versions of installers burned to discs as well, except for the last two new games
I just have, F.E.A.R. 2 and Rise of theTriad 2013.

CarrionCrow: ...
Was going to suggest going to Z and working backwards for a bit, but between Witcher 2 and Wasteland 2, you could kiss your progress goodbye for a long while if your speed's not great.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Some of the new downloads are 3 or 4 gigs, instead of the 1.5 to 2 gigs files,
which makes it harder to put onto flash drives for easy installs.
I was thinking of how the Witcher and Wasteland sequels are so frigging big. Just checked my folder, those two are 35.9 gigs all together.
Crazy big right there.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Hey there. =)

Well, I was getting coffee, but a roommate asked if I could give them a hand running errands, so I ended up doing that.

Nah, it's possible. It might kick the crap out of your internet and soak up every drop of bandwidth you have for a week or two, but it's possible.

You don't have that many. Even with unbundling you're under 500. -laughs-

Yeah, you do have a lot of D's, looking at it. But at least none of them are really large files, if I'm remembering correctly.
Also, once you're done with all 34 D's, you only have 12 E's to do. That's like a walk in the park. ;)

EndreWhiteMane: The 5 Draculas are over 16GB total since they split them up. I think after D is a good place for a break. :-)
Okay, yeah...Didn't remember those being so large.
But then, my memory is kinda shit, so that doesn't surprise me. -laughs-
Breaktime after D it is.

Also, I think Joker Rabbit is slowly infecting me with their obsession with Dark Souls. I'm now the farthest I've ever been in that game. Not saying much since I quit last time after getting my ass handed to me, but I just managed to kill off the second boss.

Oh boy!
I'm so glad to have downloaded my library before the unbundling.

Likewise....file sizes are kind of insane right now.

Why in the world is Dracula 1 almost 11 gigs now?

Okay, I know the answer why. The people at GOG are frigging dorks. It says 10.8 gigabytes in the description, but when I load it into the downloader, it shows up as being 1.02 gigs.

Leaving how many to go? ;)

I see that now, 1 gig on disk.

Edit: Dark Souls looks pretty awesome. But way too much for me to handle. :-)

No clue, boss-wise. I've been making sure to not get spoilers for it. I've heard names, people complaining about this boss or that, but that's it.

I think you could do it, if you had a controller. The keyboard controls are garbage.
Also, one of the huge problems that makes it so goddamn hard to get into is that the designers intentionally don't explain things very well, and that's even for the basics.
I can see not wanting to hold players' hands, but they go out of their way to make it so you end up on some wiki just to learn about the stats and what-not.

LaPtiteBete: How does it come that you still don't have a public wishlist... huh ? ;-)
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Hm, I don't know, I guess I've never really looked into it? :P At any rate, my wishlist is a rather short one. There are only a handful of games sitting on it. :P
Wow... That really is painfully short... It definitely needs some work :-P

Probably be confusing if/when updates come but you do save a lot of space.

I know, right? There's bound to be more games on here that I want, but I'm somewhat of an impulsive buyer. If something shows up on sale and it looks nice, I'll go for it. :P

That's a different way of buying items...I can't think of anyone else who does such things...-stifles hysterical laughter-

You don't have a whole lot of games, but you have mostly very good ones.
MUCH more sensible than my "collection". :-)

But she added 'looks nice' we just go with the 'on sale' part. :-)

Hahaha. :P There are loads of impulsive buyers on here, I know. But there are also plenty of people with well-organized wishlists. Mine isn't that organized at all. :P

Thanks. :P While Steam doesn't exactly make me happy, I also have a reasonable number of games on there, so my collection is somewhat spread out. And I own some things through Humble as well. And there's nothing wrong with having a large collection, right? ;)

Well, if I had a steady income, I think my list of impulse buys would be much, much longer than it is now. :P But while I'm still a student I have to keep my spending in check a bit, which is good for controlling purchases.

I hope not! If so I need to be locked away somewhere. :-)

Well, not only that, you go with 'on sale'. I go with 'on sale' and sometimes the addition of 'wow, that looks like total shit, let's buy it'.
