CarrionCrow: Yes, it was quite good of Moonshine to set one up for the year.
It's very useful for when I want a place to scream about games in a more text-heavy form.
l0rdtr3k: But I try to be positive, even when I dislike the game. It's very useful for when I want a place to scream about games in a more text-heavy form.
Did you liked both of my reviews,Crow? I'm thinking of continuing with them.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It's way more fun to tear something apart when it's total shit.
I think your reviews are fine, it's useful to get thoughts about a game together and put them down, both for yourself and for others.
I tend to do that while the bile is still at a maximum, as soon as the credits hit and before the screaming stops. ;)

CarrionCrow: Wait a second...positivity while disliking something?

I also try to not be a loudmouth like Nostalgia Critic, because I think it gets grating quickly, but I scream when I REALLY dislike the game.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Stilton: Wow, what have I been missing? Sounds like you've been hitting yourself with a keyboard and overdoing the caffeine.
CarrionCrow: Nah, the keyboard doesn't get off that easily. -laughs- Thinking of doing a Fahrenheit/Dragonshard double feature with some other crap pile as a third.
Or I might say to hell with it and finally start my Dark Souls run. Not sure.
I remember playing things way back and getting so frustrated I'd start levitating with fury, but the damn games kept me wanting to beat them so I kept on trying. When I did it was with a huge sense of achievement, but I always questioned the game makers for their levels of sadism/intelligence, and myself for my levels of intelligence/masochism. Which is a round about way of saying if I'm not enjoying something these days I'll probably opt for something else instead. Like Linux over Windows, which started doing voluntarily weird creative stuff yesterday and prompted me to ditch it and try out one of Linus's 'flavours.' Hopefully it won't make me feel like throwing up...
There you go, moonshine, Ol' Wing Ears is back ;-)

Evening all,
How are we all doing?
It's been a lovely sunny day here, which was nice. Had a bit of work to do but it's all done now. Just got to make and have dinner and then the rest of the night is for relaxing.

CarrionCrow: Would agree. Got to the ending, said to myself, "Well, they've screwed that series up." and moved on.
Stupid asses, they should have been happy with the first and left it at that.
Not that the first didn't have more than a few problems of its own...

I actually managed to find the ending offensive. Mostly, because they suceeded in making me care for the characters and invest emotionally in them. Only to see that bullshit tweest ending that ruined everything. I felt ripped off.
Ken Levine seems to subscribe to the Gainax school of thought for story endings which can be summed up as. "Drill a hole in your audience's head with power tools, then proceed to have vigorous intercourse with the hole".

Hi adalia, glad you've had a good day. Its been nice here, too, if a tad chilly. I likewise have relaxation ahead, and gaming, and probably some reading as well. Who said being a Viking was going to be easy?

It's like Meat Boy versus I Wanna Be The Guy. Meat Boy is at least balanced in its own exceedingly sadistic way.
I'm not going to do the other one because it's geared to killing you, and that's it. That isn't enjoyable to me, even in a masochistic sort of way.
(Well, to be fair, I wouldn't call Meat Boy a fun game either, by any means.)
With something like Fahrenheit, I know it's shit, but I want to give it one more run before I move it from my active folder to my dead one, where it will never be touched again.
Dragonshard I want to try since it actually had potential when I started, and I'd like to see how it plays out, especially with how people tend to consider it one of the two crappy black sheep in the D&D bundle that GOG loves to sell during sales.
You're right, enjoyment in some form is essential. I was playing a game called Lifeless Planet the other day. It wasn't hilariously bad, it certainly wasn't good. It was just utterly mediocre, so it got sent to my dead rentals pile.

moonshineshadow: *big thank you hug* But I still hope you can be here more often :-)
So what do you think about the recently added LucasArts games?
I don't have any prior experience of them, but straight away Outlaws and IJ and the Emperor's Tomb went on my wishlist. I like their era, so I'll give them a go at some point. So what do you think about the recently added LucasArts games?
How about yourself?
And thank you for your nice comment, I'm almost blushing....

I didn't particularly connect with the kids since I tend to hate children, but after them telling an interesting story for most of it, for it to shit itself and die on the garbage final boss fight and the ridiculous conclusion to the supposed moral choice thing, it was a massive, massive letdown.
As for Gainax...there are a few anime I've watched and enjoyed. Hell, with Black Lagoon I can say that I've watched it start to finish repeatedly and found it enjoyable every time.
I watched Evangelion over a decade ago, and I have never gone back for a rewatch.
It had potential, but as soon as they started adding extra pilots to the mix, that was when it went into death dive territory.
