adaliabooks: Sounds really interesting, I shall look forward to you finishing and publishing it :)
Right now, I’m just thinking about finishing these first two books,
taking the first steps on a path, blazing a trail up an unpredictable mountain
against the winds of circumstance, and meandering through the mists of distraction.

‘tis a daunting feat, indeed.

All the years of work, slowly being weaved through words upon the pages turning... ;)
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone. =)

Hopefully you're all having a pleasant weekend so far.

Evening Crow, still alive anyway. How's your day been?

Well, that's good. It'd be interesting in a different sort of way if you weren't, but still communicating via the net.
But despite that, I prefer you alive. =)

Not too badly here. Got some sleep, did some stuff around the house, wiped out some maybes from the catalog thanks to the audiobook-loving relative, ran some errands.
Nothing exciting, but excitement can be hugely overrated.

Not bad, was pretty tired after work so just played lazy this afternoon.
Downloading my entire GOG library again to be sure I have all the updates.
That should take about a week. ;-)
Ah bros, I'm about to pull the trigger on a new GFX card, Nvidia 900 GTX-something.

Can someone persuade me/dissuade me from this? I only trust GOG on stuff like this when it comes to compys.

Eh, it's the weekend. Nothing wrong with relaxing when you need to.

Sheesh, you must have far better internet than mine. I shudder at the thought of redownloading my library from scratch.
But, that is one way to deal with the flow of updates, patches, alterations, redundant notification flags and everything else.

Honestly not sure on that one. I'm also in the market for a new graphics card when the electrical will allow it, but I'm going to have to do some serious research to rate cost versus performance.

It's been a while since I updated anything and a lot were still the old installers.
The GOG Downloader has been working very well for me so I just queue up a bunch and let it run.

That's good at least. Now that you mention it, I think I have installers that still show ads for games that aren't even in the catalog anymore. -laughs-

I'm surprised at how many I have that aren't around anymore, the spellforce series is an example.
Trying to get those for sure before something bad happens. ;)

Agreed. As soon as possible, all items are getting backed up externally.
While I would put the odds of something going catastrophically wrong with Nordic titles as fairly low since the relationship between them and GOG seems to be good despite the games not being here, the thought of Bethesda deciding to pitch a fit and wanting the Fallout series pulled in its entirety even from people who paid for it keeps bothering me.

After all this drooling over Pillars it turns out my hardware won't handle it anyway, I'll continue to salivate over Original Sin though. :-)

Funny how that works. Mine might be able to by doing what I call brute forcing it, depending on a decent processor and RAM setup to make up for the shitty integrated graphics, but I don't want to burn over 40 dollars taking the chance that it won't.

I'll just continue being in the same boat as you and half the thread, waiting for a good shot at Original Sin.

Or, ya know, clearing out some of the other boatload of crap I want. ;)

An upshot to it - you know there will be bugs. The upgrade time for people like us will give them time to clean up messy bits. (And let the price drop...)

That's one of the things I like about the Shadowrun games. They're enjoyable, but you don't need hundreds of dollars in upgrades to play them.
Goddamn, I wish Hong Kong was out already.

Just loaded Shadowrun Returns last night and will play with it tomorrow.
That gets me up to 15 installed, enough for now me thinks. ;)
