AgentBirdnest: *tosses the Frisbee to DD... and it only gets halfway :-/* (My aim isn't good either...)
ddickinson: But can you at least catch? *tosses the Frisbee back to Agent* :-) *using my spare pair of pants to stop the bleeding*

adaliabooks: Hey guys.
I think I know this (although my knowledge comes from either Big Bang Theory or QI so it may not be 100% accurate) but apparently it comes from when beds had ropes to hold the mattress and you would have to tighten them to improve the support (I suppose?) which is where the phrase comes from.

Hi all! just dropping in for a few moments for *hugs and waves*.
And off I am again. The battlefield "kitchen" awaits!
"Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne!"

moonshineshadow: *big hug* Sounds great. Have fun on the battle-field :D What is the goal of the operation? ;-)
Phase 1: Clear the kitchen area of enemy units and fortifications. Any resistance is to be met with excessive force. Phase 2: Scavenge the battlefield for meat and stuff, and prepare a feast for the local battle maiden and her Children of Chaos.

ddickinson: How has your day been so far? Are you enjoying the time off and just relaxing? I think I need another hobby besides reading and games :D

moonshineshadow: Day is ok. I am feeling a bit adrift. Not that motivated for playing something (or better nothing caught my eye enough to motivate me) and I can't decide on a book. So at the moment I am just lazing around, not sure what really to do with my time.
I think I need another hobby besides reading and games :D
I know how you feel, I have phases like that. Are there any hobbies you would like to have besides reading and games? Before things got so hectic for me I was starting to learn the piano to pass some time when I was not in the mood for reading or playing one of my legion of games.I think I need another hobby besides reading and games :D

I am thinking something where I am more active would be nice. I am all week sitting in the office and on weekend hanging out on the sofa reading or in front of the computer, so something with more activity would be good. But I can't really decide on what and there is the problem that doing something here is difficult since I can't really speak the language here ;-)

moonshineshadow: I tried learning to play the guitar for a few years, but my musical hearing and my feeling for rythm were quite insufficent :D It was fun but I never really got anywhere :P

Jogging, swimming, or cycling are nice ways to pass some time. I know from experience that they can also help clear your mind and be quite relaxing and ease stress. I usually go for a little run in the morning while at work, and during the summer I go for some nice swims in the lake or rivers nearby. They can be solitary activities, so you would not have to worry about not really speaking the language. I am thinking something where I am more active would be nice. Do you have any ideas of some more active things you would like to do?

I was also thinking about swimming. I always had fun doing that. I think I will check if there is a good location nearby.
I was also thinking about perhaps taking some Taekwondo lessons but there is the language problem. I did some martial arts before so trying another would be interesting. Perhaps in two years when I move away from here.
