Good evening. =)
I always thought it meant sleep securely, from the days when you could be attacked by a bear or something while taking a nap out on a trail somewhere.
I have a question for you. Do you prefer being referred to as Trent, Trenton, or something else all together?

I think it can mean sleep soundly or sleep securely, but I believe it refers to the meaning of the word tight, look at #20

I'd say you've got the right definition, which now makes me wonder how I ended up thinking it was a certain way for years on end. -laughs-

Maybe it was relayed to you by someone who use to be a woodsman and it was relayed to them that way? I use to believe the idea that we ate at least 3 or 4 spiders in our lifetime from them going into our mouths while we sleep, the way it was told to me it sounded legit and made sense. Not really true thank goodness :)

I'll second the spider thing, not really a fan of eating those whether asleep or awake.
No clue, I don't have any woodsmen who might've passed that chunk of info along. Must have heard it at some point and interpreted it my own way.

I'd rather have a sliver or two of self-respect and clear my wishlist slowly. -laughs-

good night and good morning! this is the only place where saying that is normal :D
bugs? but...but... they taste rather nice after roasted; crispy and with some spices, good night snacks.
anyhow. dammit. I feel so empty now. Finally got Zak McKrakken. And The Dig. I feel... strange. So much waiting. And then Zang! There they are, installed on my computer. So.. now what? :)

You can say that whenever you want, depending on the adaptability of the person you're saying it to.
If someone applies it to time of day all the time, then it gets odd.
Also, you kinda sound like how I might feel when my list is cleared. What to do when you have what you want?
Such a pain. -laughs-
I'd say pick one, flip a coin if you can't decide on one or the other, then go for it.

Good morning, evening - coffee, yum. :-) 5am here, and everybody is sleeping or gaming, it seems.
Hi to you when you get here, Crow - sorry I missed you yesterday. I remember reading somewhere about Galaxy, but can't find where. I think you have to be one of the Chosen Ones?
Hope that it's at least a little less frustrating than your last few games have been.
I tried to join in here yesterday afternoon, but after I'd posted once or twice, the GOGbear had other ideas. Hope it stays away today.
Meantime I have stuff to do, letters to write and a reference for a friend applying for a post at a University - academics are very picky about getting just the right reference, so I have to brush up on my jargon. ;-)
We've had lots of rain here, the trees are happy and should be set for the long hot dry summer to come. More rain predicted today, I hope the power doesn't go off. I'll be sure to have a flask of coffee ready, just in case. :-)
I'll leave you with my best wishes for a very happy day or night, and my hopes that things will be better for those who are struggling.
My replies to most of you never seem to get noticed; I seem to be mostly rather invisible here, but my good thoughts are with you all the same. I guess this thread moves too fast for people to keep up, including me.
In any event, I don't mind being invisible, I'm a quiet, solitary type. :-)
Take care.
