Yeah it is slowly getting better :-) Really glad that it is weekend now. So at least until Sunday I can forget about stuff. Probably have to do some work on Sunday since there will be another meeting with my boss on Monday...

Hello, Owl! *big hug*

I have had a very nice evening, thank you. I went out with my partner and some friends for a nice meal. I drank a bit too much wine, but it was a fun evening. :-)

My partner is feeling a lot better now, almost completely back to her old self. She is still a bit tired, but that should pass soon. My mum is not too good. She will need surgery to fix some of her broken bones, and she is not really in a good place for surgery, especially as she is still recovering from nearly dying at Christmas. But she is trying to put a brave face on it all, but all the stuff to do with her health and my niece dying has taken its toll on her at the moment.

Yes, I did. (Honestly, any time I'm not using a keyboard as a pillow is a step up, quality-wise.)
Fiddling with Galaxy right now and doing everything but hitting myself in the fingers with things to not give first impressions point by point since the Galaxy people expressly ask those checking out the alpha to not do so since it's an unfinished product.

I'm working from home. I have to install an upgrade to one of my projects, and since this is only possible after office hours (since otherwise people would be working with it) I had to do it after 8 pm. And Friday is advantageous since I have the whole weekend to fix things or roll back the changes in case anything goes wrong.
I had made most preparations in the afternoon, what was left was creating backup, copying a few hundred thousand files, fire a few scripts at the database and tweak a handful of configs. I was playing FEAR while the server was working :-).

Laughing at your use of the word "rants"...

That could be construed as me using something that's going to make me scream at length, or that I'm prone to screaming at length in general.

Thank you, if I feel the urge to start foaming at the mouth, I'll put it down and then you get the "fun" of reading it. =)

I will say this, though. Turns out, I'm not a huge fan of clients I have to screw with to play my games.
I have to do it with my rentals, and that sucks all on its own, but I must be way more used to doing stuff with GOG, because adding a client when I've already got my 5 year stockpile folder, that took me frigging forever to download with my crap speed? Not a fan.
