l0rdtr3k: Little blob gonna get some sleep.
Goodnight, little blob! *goodnight hug*
avatar
CarrionCrow: Not a problem. Started digging when I had no frigging clue what things like the gather function did in fights.

Understandable. That one is supposed to be all kinds of bad.
Still have to get around to playing it.

They've got the same thing I bought at the local Walmart for 35 or so plus tax for 28 at Amazon.
Guess their price dropped over a few months time.

The frigging current gen controllers are extremely expensive. Those are the ones with the 50 to 60 dollar price range for a standard item. Absolutely ridiculous.
Just checked, X-Box One controllers are 52, PS 4 controllers are 55.
avatar
EBToriginal: Yeah my roommate went looking for a controller for dark souls two four months back and nothing was less than sixty unless you wanted low build quality GameStop garbage.
Yeah, forget that. I don't do Gamestop-brand hardware. Used games are one thing, so long as you make sure to check them before the refund time is up. But never hardware.
avatar
CarrionCrow: That's a happy side effect. Just really happy that I have a lot more good games than I do bad ones.
My list doesn't even have many bad items on it anymore. Other than Simon the Sorcerer 3D, Iron Storm and Kingdom: The Far Reaches, everything else is good.
I'm happy with a 50 to 1 ratio. -laughs-
avatar
ddickinson: I did not mind Iron Storm. It's by no means an incredible game, but it was a fun little average FPS. What is it that you dislike about the game?

As for Simon the Sorcerer 3D, I could never bring myself to play it or buy it. The original game holds a very special nostalgic place in my heart, so I can't bring myself to play the horrible third game.
At the time, I really wasn't a fan of snipers having pinpoint accuracy before I could wrestle with the bad controls to get to them.

I've heard that a lot from fans, that the third in the series is just a nightmare compared to the first two. I didn't buy it last time it was on sale, but I still want the full series so it's getting purchased.

I tend to rebind the controls to ones I am more suited to with FPS games. I also played it on the easier settings, to make the snipers less deadly. I never expected it to be great, but I had fun playing it, even if the ending was not very good. I picked it up during a sale, and for the price I paid for it, I think it was worth it, for me at least.

Well, fun is the main thing (for most people, anyway). As long as you liked it enough to feel it was a good purchase, that's what matters.
For me it's another one of those things that would bug me endlessly if I didn't buy it.

The exploding dogs were quite annoying, as were the rocket launcher troops. Lots of one hit kills in the game. The premise for the story and setting was quite interesting, but sadly not really implemented as good as it could have been. But I did enjoy the gameplay for the most part, not the best, but not the word I have played either.

Well I had better call it a night and try to get some sleep.

Goodnight Crow & Endre (and anyone else lurking)! I hope you have a good evening.

They blew up dogs? I hate that game!

Goodnight DD, sleep well. :-)
Okay...just found an annoying bug for Beatbuddy.

I guess that on a certain part of a certain level, the AI companion you need to have switch off an obstacle just decides to sit there instead.

Yay for wasting ten minutes looking for a puzzle solution when the solution was "Game broke a little, exit and restart the level so maybe it'll work properly this time."

That's always fun. Feeling stupid because the game is. :-)

Oh yeah. I started thinking, "Okay, what the hell am I missing?" because it wasn't a huge space at all and I'd already checked everything that wouldn't kill me.
But since I've been playing Meat Boy, and as such have become used to a game level actively screwing me over so I couldn't progress, I went back, reset the level from the top, and that time the AI partner didn't bug out.

What if your AI companion was still waiting for you? Maybe they just needed to take a break and catch their breath. AI companions are people too! :)

-laughs- They had plenty of time. They were waiting on me to open a door for them, which I had.
Guess they decided on an extended coffee break in the meantime.
Night folks, see you on the morrow. ;)

Have a good night, sleep well when you get there. =)
2 more levels done. And then there were nine...

Still hate you, Meat Boy.
