One good thing about the cats here - they might be annoying at times, they might be demanding and aloof, but holy crap will they kill anything smaller than them that they can catch. ;)

OK, here's a small New Year's resolution - I won't bother anyone else to make their wishes public; those I have already and just haven't completed the process yet are excluded.

Mine's only 7 pounds, she sticks with sparrows since her last (no offense) crow encounter. :) Damn thing about flew off with her, they grow big on all the corn around here.

Makes me think of the pecking order around here. The cats will wipe out quails, any random small bird with the misfortune to land on this chunk of dust, rabbits, rats, mice, chipmunks and gophers. Hell, pretty sure they've killed more than one scorpion to boot.
But, a bigass owl can still ruin their day (to put it mildly). Have to keep an eye out for them. (Well, and snakes. Haven't seen a cat go after one of those, but don't want them at the vet's just to find out which one would win.)

That makes sense, kind of. Strange that it can also mean hurtful as well as heartful. Judging by people's reaction to the game, I'm guessing it's actually hurtful pigeon. :-)
