What are you up to tonight?
Nothing too terribly exciting here. Started playing my Beatbuddy rental, it's pretty enjoyable.
Not sure if it's ten dollars retail enjoyable, since that puts it up against some major titles on here price-wise, but it's fun enough, creative in its style and has some really nice music as well.
Any thoughts on what sounds good for your extreme early morning, or too soon to tell?

I'll go back to bed in a while, otherwise I'll be messed up all day.
I'm deciding what games to re-install now that my hard drives are clean, could be fun there's room for a pile of them. ;)
Just thought I'd add if you don't know, Moon is OK.

Figuring you'll be sensible and not bog down your hard drives after all the fun you had clearing them out.
Don't be like me. Don't have 20 or 30 games loaded, all of them with the "I'll play those next, promise" stipulation attached.
That's very good to hear, thank you for letting me know. Haven't seen her in days now, was hoping something bad hadn't happened.

Good morning, friends.
... Does anything happen on Wednesdays on GOG? I can't remember.
Good to know! Haven't seen her in a couple days. I was starting to worry. *wipes forehead*
That's all? Damn... I have about 60 installed (x2 if you include rentals :-/)

Sometimes there are new releases, but it seems to be rare compared to Tuesdays and Thursdays.
With the new setup, there's no midweek gem promo thing anymore, so it'll probably be quiet.
Just counted, I've got 16 games installed right now.
With my GOG folder taking up over half my hard drive, I don't keep as many things loaded as I used to.

And those 15 or so that I don't really remember what they are till I play them again.
All in all I un-installed 130+ pieces of software.
Hey, it's been 7 years since I cleaned up. :-O

OK, here's something that's bothered me for a while. I'm going to use Pier Solar as an example but it happens a lot.
One of the first little quests is when 3 friends get together and you have to go to the girls house to get her bow and arrows.
You wander around (explore?) the town until you find a house that has a trunk upstairs with said bow and arrows in it.
At no time does this girl seem to know where her house is, or where the bow and arrows are stored in that house.
The same type of thing happens over and over.
How can one 'suspend disbelief' and get into a game where all the PCs seem to be completely braindead?
Are most RPG's like this? :)

Add to everything you said, at least a couple of villagers in that town talking about shit that I had absolutely no idea or concept of, so they come off sounding like they either read ahead in the script, or they're godsdamned psychotics.
Also, while we're on the subject, how did everyone in that town figure out that the main character is going to the cave?
I talked to two people about it, tops. So how in the hell does every other random asshole with a line of dialogue know what's going on like they have a microphone on him at all times?
Some of this is old JRPG-style crap, and some of it is just sloppiness on the part of the game designers.
Case in point - I was looking for the inventor kid's house. As soon as the person said inventor, I knew two things.
It'd be the house with bits and piece of scrap laying around, and it'd be a young kid, since all inventors are frigging teenagers.

To me, Pier Solar already feels like a second-tier quality level RPG from the Super Nintendo/Genesis days.
That might sound bad, but when I think about first-tier being stuff like Final Fantasy 6, it's really frigging hard to reach that kind of level.
I'm going to expect some cliches, some quality, some stupidity, the entire world will be threatened at some point, and it should turn out to be pretty fun, despite the dumb shit like a girl who apparently huffs paint until she forgets where she lives.
