I hope you are doing okay? Are you still planning to visit the new Globe Theatre later this year?

Most of the time things are never a problem (people in the countryside are so much nicer and more civilised), it's the bigger cities that we run into most of the annoying people. Normally I don't care, but sometimes I just get tired of it all. I am sorry to hear you have had similar experiences, it's never nice. I will never understand why people are so judgemental, but sadly that's just the way they are.

That's great to hear about another local pitch. Fingers crossed things keep getting better for you and your parter.

I remember you mentioning this before. I just hope that you don't let those people who look down at you for being you change who you are. As annoying as it can be, they are not worth it, if they don't like it then that's their problem, not yours.

He does that to me as well. I think as punishment we should make him personally hand deliver a pizza to each member here. And it had better be hot when it arrives. :-)

I'm just getting into witcher saga now, went through first one just recently...
Loaded my 1st one's save to the witcher 2 (lovely thing to get it free from gog some time ago)... I was wondering does the save affect the second game in any particular or special way other than that I got some of my old items transferred along?
Whoops can't say anything more actually, even this is bordering on spoiling fun if someone has yet to play these games.
Maybe I shouldn't be asking this stuff here and I don't mind if no one answers, just feeling rather good today for some reason.

Funny, I've always found the opposite to be true... well, small towns rather than rural / countryside people. It's one thing I've always loved about cities; no one gives a sh*t about you, they don't notice if your different or odd because so many people are. It doesn't happen so much now, but I used to get shouted at in the street just because I have long hair...

I second this, it can be so hard sometimes but it's not worth trying to be someone or something your not just to fit in. I tried it for years and only ended up miserable. Now I just don't care what people think and do what I like :)

That is interesting. I guess it all depends on the region and the people there. The countryside is by no means a perfectly tolerant place (no where is), but I find them to be a lot less nasty and judgemental. But clearly it's not the same for everyone, which is a shame. Apart from the odd time (like now) when it bothers me for a little bit (usually just a few hours at most), generally I don't give it much thought anymore. The only person's opinion that matters when it comes to me and my partner is my partner's.

Hold on a minute. Why are you not passed out drunk somewhere? It is Paddy's Day after all. :-)

Yep, I'm doing just fine! I'm still planning on going, yes. If all goes well I'll go there around the middle of May, so that'll be pretty soon.

I've never really done the getting drunk on Paddy's Day thing, largely I suppose because I haven't lived in Ireland since it was legal for me to drink...
And I've never been passed out drunk at all, Paddy's Day or not.

But as it is Paddy's Day I will share my two favourite books about Ireland, ironically written by an Englishman:

The Road to McCarthy

They are hilarious and really give a (worryingly) accurate picture of Ireland. So if you have any interest in Irish culture (or any Irish heritage) buy them and give them a read :)
