CarrionCrow: No, haven't seen her since the last time she spoke in the thread.
Whenever I see her, I'll be sure to let you know. =)
avatar
HypersomniacLive: I assume that means that you're not really worried about her?

EndreWhiteMane: Good afternoon folks, hope everyone is OK today.
Been trying to copy a couple of TB of data through USB 2.0 today, slooooow goin'. :-)
avatar
HypersomniacLive: USB 2.0 should feel right at home, you grumpy old Viking! ;-P

How are you doing today?
They have multiple ways to contact me. Aside from that, there isn't anything I can do.

gunsynd: Sunny, and cool.Autumn coming Yay,Souths won again beat the Roosters:-)
I am glad Autumn is coming for you, a chance to escape those high temperatures. And good news that your team won again.

ddickinson: Everyone knows ladies don't snore. :-)

How are you? I hope you had a nice day, hopefully with a little relaxation time for yourself?
DO YOU IMPLY MY WIFE IS NOT LADY LIKE?!

;-)

Actually I had a quite satisfying day. The was not much to it in terms of relaxing - but I managed to gain the upper hand on outstanding house chores. Means, I've been working my ass off, but there's actually a little sense of progress felt in this warzone of 4 people with too little time - and I managed to cook a delicious dinner for the family. We've been living on convenience food for the last few weeks and it was a real relief (and felt like a big accomplishment) to actually prepare a meal. But now I'm off for shut-eye. I don't feel... ready for it, but the clock say I've got 5 and a half hours until it's time to get up...

So Good Night *hugs and waves* everybody!

l0rdtr3k: Bored and tired.
Was playing Payday,Cities XL and SRW but otherwise it was a slow day and I had quite a scare today, though I was having a heart attack but it was just a stomach ache.
I am glad it was just a stomach ache and not anything more serious.

*big hug of relief*

Not at all, I am (jokingly) implying you are telling fibs. :-)

I hope you have a good nights sleep. *goodnight hug*

Have you had any luck picking a new game to play?

Good night hug right back. :-) I wish I would get along with with a little sleep as you. I usually need 8-9 hours to feel really awake.

Not really. I played five minutes of Anvil of Dawn but got annoyed by the graphics. And realised that nostalgics can make games so much better.

I am sure if you had grown up on a farm and were used to the hours you would be good to go on 4-5 hours as well. :-)

I hope you have a restful nights sleep and feel fresh in the morning.

I know what you mean, I can play some games with horrible graphics with the help of nostalgia, but others I have never played just annoy me and I can't play them. Although it's not usually the graphics that puts me off, it's the game's mechanics (controls etc) that put me off playing the most.

Yeah. I probably have to fiddle with the config options of dosbox because the game should look better. Because it looked really shitty and the screenshots on the gamepage were not that bad. But I was not really motivated. Somehow I ended up comparing the graphics and the interface with Lands of Lore and there was no chance it could stand up against that.

ddickinson: Interesting fact I discovered about you the other day, Hyper. I was looking through my PMs for something, and I couldn't help but notice that I have received two games from you, while you have only received one from me. It seems strange that you would be so resistant to accepting games from me when I have actually received more from you. Would that not make you the one reluctant to get gifted and me the one open to it? :-)

How are you today my lovely friend?
Ah, you win!

But nice try distorting reality, cheers.

I'm ok, had a nice weekend, thanks for asking.

I just had a look at both games, and Lands of Lore definitely looks the most appealing out of the two. I think with the older games you have to have some motivation, especially if the graphics and mechanics have not aged well.

I really love Lands of Lore 1. Great game. Played it many times. So I am always telling people they should play it but need to be careful since my opinion is colored by nostalgics.

I distorted nothing, I stated the truth. I think you are just mad because I uncovered your hidden gifting addiction. I think it's only fair now that you start accepting gifts. :-)

I am glad you are doing okay and had a nice weekend.

I will have to have another look at the Lands of Lore games another day. I only brushed over them before, for the reasons I mentioned before, that I often find older games have not ages too well if you take nostalgia away.

But as you speak highly of it I will have a closer look. I am not sure it is for me or that I would enjoy it, but I will definitely have a closer look.

*big hug* The first one is the best in my opinion, the others were not that good anymore. But like I said, I clearly see things through nostalgic glasses ;-)

Yay, more hugs, thank you! *big return hug*

I do the same thing with games I am nostalgic about, but I think we are all guilty of that. That's the nice thing about GOG, so many old games that bring back some wonderful memories.

Edit: I just noticed my 600th rep, a nice rounded number. :-)

ddickinson: I had an absolutely wonderful day, thank you. I am feeling the best I have been for a while now. I had a nice relaxing horse ride with my partner, then a lovely picnic lunch near a nice quiet river, then later we had some fun baking together.
That is wonderful to see, thanks for letting us know~!
