ddickinson: I know there are some good modern adventure games, but for the most part they are lacking the qualities the older ones had. The older games were often longer, more fun, more original, had more gameplay, and were not dumbed down like they are now. But as I said, the newer ones can still be fun, but I tend to always prefer the older games.
That's why I mentioned Edna, it has all those qualities. I don't know about the quality of the English version. In German Edna's crazy and flippy comments (about literally everything you click or try to combine) are just hilarious. But I can see many things going wrong translating this.

From the 90's games, what's your favourite (aside from IHNMAIMS)?

toxicTom: That's sad, especially as you wanted kids. Don't answer if you feel it's too indiscreet: You can't have them? Or you're not allowed to because you live with a woman?
I have answered it before in the thread, so I don't mind talking about it. But I will keep it short, as I feel it makes the place a bit depressing.

The answer is I can't have them, the result of some piece of ****** who attacked me and stabbed me several times. My friend died during the attack and I ended up nearly dying and on life support. One of the side effects was damage to my womb, which means I am no longer able to safely have children. My partner's works would make it hard to have a child at the moment, but who knows what the future will hold, it's definitely something we talk about.

As to the last part, there is no law stopping two women having a child, there has not been for a long time, so it's nothing to do with that.

moonshineshadow: In the beginning my mum was also not really interested in computer games, but we sucked here right in. It just needed a bit of convincing her :D Ah so many great stories, like the time I convinced here we needed an internet flatrate instead of the download limited.
It's nice to hear all the fun you have playing games with your mum. It always make me smile hearing that you two are enjoying games and time together.

j0ekerr: My impression on children is that I like them. I like them well done.

And I just ate a jalapeño sandwich, why do I do this to myself?!

ddickinson: Silly question, and one I know I should probably know, but does your keyboard have special keys for characters like ñ, or are they standard and replace the regular letters?
I am guessing it is a different layout. Since the German and Swiss one are also very different.

Yes I know there the ;: key is.

I see, thank you. I know it was probably a silly question, but I have never really looked into keyboards for other languages.

Morning all, glad to see everyone still alive albeit a little tired.
Inny, I'm glad your cat made it through.
So you don't all have to ask I'm OK but the new pills are still kicking my arse a bit, have to see in a few days whether the results are worth the side effects.
Having my first cup of coffee in a few days, tastes pretty good. ;)

Laugh of the day:

Yep it is really great :-) And while my mum was not into playing games in the beginning now she has a lot of fun and sometimes I think if I continue with this slow pace she will beat more games than I will :D
You know the reason Witcher 3 is in my library? My mum told me "Buy it, I want to play it, here is the money" :D
Fortunately the other inmates here have no intentions to escape, DO THEY?

That's pretty cool. I hope you have a machine that can run it.

Nope not at the moment. But it is fine. I bought it because my mum wants to play it and she has the machine to run it :D I can still play it later on once I upgrade my computer.

I love seeing other "hardcore" gaming women. It shows those boys that we proper games just like they do.

I have the Witcher 1 and 2 in my library, but I have not played them yet. One day I will get around to trying them, I do intend to play all the games on my shelf eventually. :-)

I have played the first one. Was a nice game. And when the second game come out I realized you could load saves from the first one. But I did not have mine anymore because the computer had broken down in between. So I started to play the first one again and almost finished it. And then I had to move and stuff and somehow I never finished the replay of the first and never even started the second one :D
