Cuddling time!

Ah... That's what they say, don't they. And don't you dare to disagree, lest you are a pariah and horrible person ;-)

My honest opinion is - having children is not for the faint-hearted. They can be an incredible joy, but also a tremendous source of grief, sorrow and frustration.
The "is it worth it" question just vanishes, once you have them - you have the responsibility: deal with it.
Maybe each parent can answer that question for themselves, once they've grown old and the children have their own lives. Right now it's impossible to answer (at least for me). Without the kids my life would be very different, but I couldn't say if it was "better" or "worse". Maybe when I'm old, without children I would regret never having had any.
Right now I sometimes have the feeling being stuck in a rat race of work and family and the responsibility to provide... It's something I never wanted for myself, I used to act on stage, write poetry and prose, paint... I feel like my impulsive, creative side is withering. I develop a cold, pragmatical, matter of fact attitude to deal with it and unfortunately my family suffers from this, since it's hard to switch to "all warm and cosy family guy" when coming home from work whacked and seeing the mountain of household chores waiting for me.
On the weekend I'm often so exhausted that it's hard to come up with the energy to do something exciting with the family.

But all the rambling aside - I madly love my kids.

Point-and-click games from the 90's were always my favourite adventure games. I loved their originality and humour. One of my favourites that I found only thanks to GOG was I have no mouth and I must scream. I really enjoyed the game and it's darker theme. The different endings and miss-able story elements were fun to.

Also, I now have my wishlist down to less than 30 games. Which is a lot better than over 50 like I had last night.

Yep. I have many great memories of playing all these old adventures with my mum, we spent hours looking for clues and solving puzzles. That is why I like to replay them even now.

Agreed. Although, Edna & Harvey - The Breakout also is very good - at least the German version.

Regarding your wishlist... 30 or 50, once you publish it, it will be empty in no time :-P

Good answer. I would have hated to have had to tell your wife if you had said otherwise. :-)

As much trouble as they may be, I have always wanted kids, but lady luck saw to it that would not happen, at least as far as me having them goes. But enough of my depressing talk. How are you liking the weekend promo? Have you seen any games that catch your eye?

My impression on children is that I like them. I like them well done.

And I just ate a jalapeño sandwich, why do I do this to myself?!

My mum was never a fan of computer games, so I usually played with my dad and my brothers. Which is part of the reason I sometimes buy games on here that I am not that keen on, but because I know my brothers like them and I have fun replaying them with them from time to time. Mainly FPS games, but there are some others as well.

I know there are some good modern adventure games, but for the most part they are lacking the qualities the older ones had. The older games were often longer, more fun, more original, had more gameplay, and were not dumbed down like they are now. But as I said, the newer ones can still be fun, but I tend to always prefer the older games.

And regarding the wishlist, who said I was going to publish it? I said I would make a wishlist, not that I would publish it. :-)

Silly question, and one I know I should probably know, but does your keyboard have special keys for characters like ñ, or are they standard and replace the regular letters?

The nice thing about this promo that (like with the last one) there's nothing really in it that interests me. It's a relief after the money drain of Insomnia. This weekend's EA promo has the added bonus, that for the first time the "already owned" list is longer than "not owned". Kind of nice.

In the beginning my mum was also not really interested in computer games, but we sucked here right in. It just needed a bit of convincing her :D Ah so many great stories, like the time I convinced here we needed an internet flatrate instead of the download limited.
