adaliabooks: Studies showed that when they re introduced wolves to Yellowstone it improved the whole eco system because animals like deer were having their population controlled, so the grass and trees grew better and weren't over eaten, and so everything else thrived too.
But then what happens when the wolves get out of control and attack people? You could be right, I am going on an article I read a while ago, and I guess you have to take each case on it's own merits. I know part of Italy are worried as wolves have begun to attack people and they are getting more aggressive.

j0ekerr: Quick send in the astartes, we have chaos tainted wolves around.

No, we should do an exterminatus, it's the only way to be sure.

You ever heard of the story of slender man? I assure you it's real!
Chaos tainted wolves? I guess the Space Wolves would be the best Chapter to send in and help. But I think an exterminatus would be a good backup plan. :-)

I have not heard the slender man story. I have seen the game on GOG, but it never really appealed to me that much.

avatar
ddickinson: But you really don't need to gift me anything, so it would not be fair to share, even with those sad eyes.
Of course I don't need to. I don't need to gift anyone here. But it is fun :D

toxicTom: Wolves are slowly becoming more common in Eastern Europe. A few trickle in to Germany from Poland too.
avatar
adaliabooks: Good :)

ddickinson: It's not really a good idea to reintroduce them. Some biologists claim wolves are actually third in the food chain (after us and Tigers), and once they get to a certain pack size they become very dangerous. I heard about a group of professional wolf hunters in Russia a while ago that were sent in to cull the local wolves that had become aggressive. They went out fully equipped and ready, but the next morning some people found all the hunters had been killed by the wolves during the night.

Not to be political, but...

yes yes yes holy frelling yes!

My family owns hundreds of thousands of acres is that part of the country. The Companies? Kill us.

I want the wolves back. I want the ecosystem back. I want the Kocks out.

Sorry for being political. My family owns the part of Kansas they don't.

Stories which are from data from the last 30 years completely discredited in here.

They do not attack humans unless they're sick or facing starvation, a large group, by it's very nature of being large is well fed, and no its not aggresive. Add to that that the notion of "humans bad" is well imprinted on them and you get no human attacks.

It's basically cattle ranching scaremongering. But the numbers don't add up. More cows are sacrificed due to sickness than lost in wolf attacks.

Completely agree. Same as the morons who kill birds of prey because they think they're going to kill all their lambs or something...
It's always difficult to tell with reports and studies but this one seems to have information from a number of different sources and suggests, in America at least, wolf attacks are really rare.

Well it's one of the more expensive titles on the sale (not the most expensive one), so I'm fine waiting until it has a bigger discount. Have you checked everyone else's wishlist? Perhaps you could gift them a game instead, that way I would be safe. :-)

You could be right, I am no expert, I am just saying what I have read in articles over the years.

ddickinson: How are you liking the weekend promo? There is only one game on there from my new wishlist, but I am in no rush, so I will leave it for another day.
Finally saw it... It's a good promo, but I already have everything I want. Nothing else on my wishlist.

Domesticated sheep are basically the Ralph Wiggum of the animal kingdom and a salivating all you can eat buffet for any carnivore.

It's actually unfair to throw hate at wolves or other predators for that. I mean, it's a prepackaged food source, that is even kept in an enclosure so that they can't even run away.

Law of minimum effort, mates.

Oh I actually already sent a gift to someone but that does not mean I could not give away something else :P

So let me see: Almost all games are $5.99, the exception are Medal of Honor, SimCity 4 and Jade Empire. SimCity is the most expensive so that leaves only two games :D
AAaaarggh! All my favourite youtube videos have 20 seccond unskippable consumer whore adds pasted over them, no matter how many times I reload the page ;~;

life seems so much harsher all of a suden, the people in charge of society are simply using me as a cast-away tool for generating money and power for themselves, manipulating me and many others through unrestrained advertissements for their awfull luxury products.

All I ask for, is to be left alone by the swine who perverted this globe and the majority of it's populace, with my music, a vegetable garden, and my books!

I want to leave this world. The quarians must be trying to communicate with me somehow, I should go track them down in a stolen spaceship from area 51.

ddickinson: I can understand that, and there is nothing wrong with it.

How are you today?
Still tired, but managed almost 6 hours of continuous sleep last night - so the fatigue level stays at least manageable. Hopefully I can catch up some at the weekend - although the kids often will be up extra early when they don't need to go to school or kindergarten.
