Good morning/day/afternoon/evening/night to all people I missed *waves and hugs*. Currently hard at work, have trouble keeping up with the thread.

Would you have been my wife you would probably heard her screaming all over Europe. She's suffering from snake phobia very badly. Can't even look at snakes on TV.

There's been efforts to re-introduce wolves in some areas, after it was hunted to near extinction during the dork ages. As you can imagine, many a farmer is less than thrilled, even though they have far more to fear from Germans in Brussels than any wolf nearby.

The whole danger thing is mostly a myth. Only a rabid or starving wolf would attack a human, and there is no rampant rabies epidemic among wolves.

It's mostly a cooked up scaremongering story by cattle farmers.

Aw, they're very cute. Not sure they would get on with the cats (or eventual dogs), but I would love to have some :)

We had a pigeon nest in the...*thinks very hard what this plant is called in English, gives up*, which we have about the house a year or so ago.

They had about 3 little birds, two of them managed to survive untill they left, and the last one got raised by an ornithologist from arround town (he was a bit weakish, so the other two pushed him out of the nest :( ).

The thing is, before pigeons migrated to towns to live in symbiosis with humans, they used to nest in rocky holes in cliffs; that kind of explains why they are such woeful nest-builders (we would often find dung lying arround below the nest, as well as, yes, an egg at one point), them being used to having solid foundations under their nests.

At least, that's what I heard being said at some point.

Wolves? The're in frelling Ohio... and yes, I'm working with an organization that keeps them safe.

Wolves are slowly becoming more common in Eastern Europe. A few trickle in to Germany from Poland too.

I can understand that, and there is nothing wrong with it.

It's not really a good idea to reintroduce them. Some biologists claim wolves are actually third in the food chain (after us and Tigers), and once they get to a certain pack size they become very dangerous. I heard about a group of professional wolf hunters in Russia a while ago that were sent in to cull the local wolves that had become aggressive. They went out fully equipped and ready, but the next morning some people found all the hunters had been killed by the wolves during the night.

Cats are lovely, but I prefer ducklings myself ;)

Studies showed that when they re introduced wolves to Yellowstone it improved the whole eco system because animals like deer were having their population controlled, so the grass and trees grew better and weren't over eaten, and so everything else thrived too.

They would be in a tank, so they would be safe from the other pets. They really are quite easy to care for, and only take up as much room as the tank. They need a heat source and some special stuff, but that's about it.

Wolves look nice, especially the ones in wildlife parks, but once they become aggressive and have a large enough pack, they are very dangerous. During the medieval era they used to openly attack knights on horses, not to mention attacking regular people, children, and livestock.

But you really don't need to gift me anything, so it would not be fair to share, even with those sad eyes.
