donsanderson: Hi folks. Sounds like everyone is doing OK, no post sale depression I hope. ;)
It is kind of nice to not have to worry about checking the computer so often. Or wind up cursing at the screen quite so much.
Good afternoon. =)
Yeah, no depression here. At worst it's yet another one of those "you have a problem, stop buying so many games, you've completely gone overboard" yada yada yada things. Been there, done that, voice fades off after a bit. -laughs-
How's the evening treating you?

Hey mate,

Post sale depression, you say? The depression ended along with the sale, feeling much better now that the torture of repeated, snailing flash deals is over. :-)

adaliabooks: Not me, just something I've heard. :P
Hmmm... this sounds like those "a friend of mine has this problem..." stories, if you get my meaning. ;-P

Doing well, got a little nap in after a long yesterday. Trying to decide what to load up next made me realize I better spend tomorrow getting this PC cleaned up so there's some room in it. ;)

Yep, I agree, this sale makes lees sense by the minute, we can just hope GOG wanted to keep us occupied while they worked on some grand, super secret, plans. ;)

Naps are good. Don't mind taking those when there's no timer to keep track of. -laughs-
In the same boat when it comes to PC cleanup. Have 66 games installed and no reason why....
Need to work on that. Fortunately, the computer's pretty clean - all the size is being eaten up by the GOG folder and installs. -laughs-

225 'gig of GOG' here, time to get out the external drive. ;)

That sounds more worrisome than exciting. ;-P
That was interesting. Stereo posts. ;)

True but after two slower than molasses sales they owe us SOME kind of excitement. :/

I'm like that with my collection - I must have almost a terabyte of games installed at this point. Then again, what the heck else would I use the space for?

If I load anymore though my swap space is going to get chewed on, I'm already 'redline' on my storage drive. :(

Take it you have just the one partition then? I try to keep games on a different HDD altogether from my OS for that (and other) reasons.

Yeah one drive has everything installed, the other is for downloads and documents. They are only 500GB in total, this is a pretty old box. I'll be OK if I uninstall things I don't need and move the downloads to an external drive. Just been to lazy. ;)

How did you manage that?

True but after two slower than molasses sales they owe us SOME kind of excitement. :/
Somehow I think that our definition of excitement and GOG's are not exactly identical - hint: they run two identical sales back to back. ;-)
And I'm fairly certain that they don't feel like the owe us anything, and rightly so, after all, for all our whining and cursing, we still spent our money, didn't we?

On the storage subject, I keep all my content backed up on one internal and two external HDDs.

No idea how I did that, one showed up and when I refreshed there were two.
Yes we certainly did spend our money, I think with shorter, faster paced, sales we would have spent more though.
I don't worry about having multiple backups of files I can re-download like GOG's. I DO however have at least 3 backups of important and irreplaceable data, 2 offline and one online. Seen too many customers shed big tears when you tell them 10 years work just went away. :-)

I don't consider any online store an extension of my storage devices, so everything gets downloaded and neatly backed up.
All data I value get the same treatment.

I think I'm ready to try catch some rest. See you all tomorrow, good night.
