Grim Fandango is a Double Fine production at this point. I think Lucasarts had it once upon a time, but the owner of Double Fine, the main person who made it, I think, bought the rights back.
Another Double Fine game you might find useful is Psychonauts. It's supposed to have a lot of humor in it as well, if you're looking to purchase another item.

All good very suggestions there. I had mentioned that I was going to kill one item on my wish list after the sale and one of the two I mentioned would be a good one. What are you feelings on which might hit a sale first?

I figure Toonstruck will hit a big sale before Grim Fandango does. The latter can go by its name and classic status for a long time before they feel compelled to start dropping the price.
Toonstruck on the other hand is a lot more obscure. It'll drop sooner unless Double Fine is having some major financial problems they're not telling anyone about.

Just to confuse you all I've had another avatar change, and what a corker it is....

I've been doing something unusual today - playing games!

I tried out the first few levels of Q.U.B.E and it really is pretty good. Likewise Shadowgate, which I'm looking forward to getting stuck into in earnest tomorrow. Its nice to finally play something, I must say, instead of watching the front page and thinking about what or what not to get.

Sometimes it feels like accumulating a collection is a multi-level game in itself.

Anybody else locked horns with their new purchases?

Makes sense, now I just have to look at GF and see if it has any 'bad dream creep factor' and my decision will be made. Thanks. ;)

To be honest, I'm trying to steam through Lords of Xulima so I don't leave it by the wayside before I play any of my new titles... and thanks to the generosity in the post sale giveaway fest I now have Halfway to add to that list too.. :D

Kinda new here (well, not to GOG, but to the community), so hello! This seems like an awfully nice place to hang out.

I really enjoyed this promo and I'm now testing The Last Federation, which I got on a crit. Played some of Valley Without Wind by the same authors, but it was slightly too weird. This however, seems to be extremely pleasant so far.

Man, I'm looking forward to St Patrick's Sale, if there's gonna be one. GOG won over Steam so much!

PS Oh, since I'm new, if I do or say anything stupid please don't hold it against me too much :P.

Don't you hate when this happens? Once in a while I'll be at the "almost done but not quite" point with a game (this doesn't necessarily mean I've solved the game - though it can) and I KNOW there's something "on deck" I'm ready and rearing to tackle. But I know if I shelve my current game just a bit too soon I probably won't go back to it, at least in the near future.

Accumulating more items is always a game. The tricky part is figuring out the ending. -laughs-

Haven't started anything from Insomnia yet, still trying to wipe out Dawn of War 2 once and for all. Was supposed to do that a week ago, but Insomnia kinda sidelined that for a bit.

I was lucky enough to get the deluxe edition in the BBBBOB (+ / - a few Bs), but as I understand the only in game extra is an amulet that gives you advice and some extra skill points now and again.

It's a great game, really enjoying it, hence not wanting to let it fall by the wayside in favour of shiny new toys. It's quite tough to start with, but it's kind of gotten easier (not easy though). I would definitely recommend it.

Since finding GoG I've not really finished many games.. only Rogue Legacy and FTL could really be classed as won, it's so easy to buy, win or be gifted something new and just drop whatever you were playing. But I'm going to start making an effort to play through my games in order, start really enjoying and completing them like I used to.

I've never been great about finishing games (there was a fun topic about this recently - to get an idea of how everyone plays). I had a decent stretch when I turned to the "Dark Side" of console gaming, but that had to do with playing shorter games - funny enough, I was a person who would scoff at any game under 30+ hours, even as I rarely finished the really long monsters.

I pretty much play up to the point that I enoy the game. Sometimes I solve it, sometimes I make it pretty close to the end and feel like I'm "done" and rarely I just don't put much time into it at all (this only happens when a game is just a "miss" with me - I usually do a good job of knowing if I'm going to like a game before I even buy it so it rarely happens, but it can).

Oddly enough, the games I don't finish are usually some of my favorites in my preferred genre (big RPGs). I get to a point where I think "I had my fun, this was an amazing game, but I think it's time for something else." One of my WORST gaming moments was trying to finish Force Unleashed - I was so "done" with the game but for whatever reason I wanted to know how the story wrapped LOL. It wasn't even that good of a story (had some nice cinematic moments but otherwise forgettable).
