Stilton: Now, the Shadowgate DLC upgrade seems to consist of just visual stuff and a soundtrack etc. I was expecting some added something to enhance the game...
GhostwriterDoF: It seemed like it was the same with Wasteland 2, so we didn't miss anything in-game for not having the Deluxe edition. :)
You've got to wonder about the 'nerve' of putting quite highly priced stuff out there which has no effect on the game, when the usual understanding of 'DLC' is that often it will do just that. There's no way I'm disappointed with what I've got, but it is a reminder to always check the smallprint and avoid potentially unpleasant surprises.

Stilton: I should have read the reviews first, but I get it now (and have corrected my above post).

It's the pre-order exclusives that get me riled a bit... These exclusives should become available after a year as part of a paid DLC if nothing else... just so we can have the "complete" game.... heh! I can understand a DLC goodies package, so they can get compensated for soundtracks and especially the extra novels and maybe even artwork associated with the game. Perhaps they should be labeled as a non-in-game addition, you might be onto something there.

So now that 20 dollars will end up clearing more items off my list.

Stilton: I'm normally pretty cautious when I buy stuff, digital or otherwise. There's nothing worse than buying something and finding it isn't what you thought it was. Which is why I avoid other dd sites as they always seem to be pushing Steam at you, even if there is a Windows icon there, too. I'm never sure if it means its a Windows game that requires Steam or if it doesn't require Steam. So I avoid. I'm happy enough here so I've got nothing to complain about.
In my experience the windows icon only shows that it works on windows and has nothing to do with the game requiring steam. If there is no clear "DRM-free" download it normally is a steam key. At least that is my experience :-)EBToriginal

Creatively inclined types, do you keep going as long and intense as your inspiration lasts or do you make yourself take breaks and have rst days?

Speaking for myself, I make sure to take breaks, especially on large projects, to keep from getting burned out or bored with something.
But, when the creativity is flowing, and inspiration strikes, I usually drop whatever
I'm doing to work on that until I get to a point that I feel I need to take another break.
The biggest issue is to not get distracted by other ideas or projects and stay focused
on the task at hand, and to most importantly finish what I started.
Hope that helps... :D

I find that stamina or staying power builds with time, but only to a point. Creativity is demanding on the mind and you should learn when to rest so as not to overwork yourself and what you're creating. Its better to do what Hemingway did, regardless of what it is you are creating, and that is so leave something wanting to continue it. In his case it might have been starting a new chapter and then going to bed, which left him wanting to continue at an enthused level the next day. There is also physical comfort to deal with, which can be as sapping as waning mental comfort. I'm not one who thinks an artist should lock horns and grit his or her teeth with an endeavour until its been hammered into the shape he or she wants. Creativity concerns a balance of the mind and senses, and when that balance is disrupted through fatigue its time to take a break and put your mind somewhere else. This is what I've found works for me, but I'd say find your own way as we're all different. I'm going to lay down now because writing all of that has made me tired....

I get the feeling that Insomnia's going to be running the rest of the weekend unless GOG seriously pares down some of the quantities.
Seems like a lot of people have already burned most if not all of their coin, so there's not a whole lot left.

I agree. I can't help thinking that this one or two games at a time thing should be replaced with something with more zazz.

And not one Title with more than 1000 copies this time around... Seems like a lot of people have already burned most if not all of their coin, so there's not a whole lot left.
It seems the impact of Insomnia has become too well known, now GoG is going to have to think of something new and improved for the next one, other than a chance for freebies.
We should try to help them think of something to do, for future promos, but think it through first... :P

Yep. And I have to admit that my motivation gets less and less to wait for more games since it is taking hours to change with these numbers... really boring.
