Pirates! was an amazing game. Ton of fun. Not sure how it holds up as I only played it many, many years ago. I know Covert Action is pretty highly regarded (I've never played it; always somewhat wanted to but I'm shallow and not sure I could get by the looks).

Also, if you're into sims, Silent Service is another very well regarded one - but only if that's your thing. I know sims are a genre that it can be hard to get into if it isn't something the person is interested in.

Her break seems to be over; symptoms are more intense and constant for the past 15 days or so now. Still bearable but noticeably worse than a couple of weeks earlier.
