Good day mates.

Not a bad start for the day. Went to sleep at 4 am, then woke up at 8. First thing I do, is grab the phone and check the front page. I see Hitman coming up with 400 copies so I decide to go to sleep again.

Two hours later, and with enough sleep, I get up, clean myself up a bit, check that Hitman's gone and decide to try my luck with wasteland.

WOOHOO CRITICAL HIT!

Here's hoping I haven't used up all my luck for the day.

I believe it's called "being on leave (from work)", but a native English speaker could chime in and tell us for sure.

On vacation? When I hear the term "on leave", I think of someone who's off work due to pregnancy or a persistent medical condition that they're trying to take care of.

I believe it's actually called, being on holiday.

The yanks would call it vacation.

A leave, is when you have an excuse for not going to work, usually medical in nature, but not necessarily.

Oh, maybe, yes. Once I picked up a hedgehog full of fleas and ticks to heal him. And another day, a dumb pigeon who crashed on my appartment window, and couldn't fly anymore. I fed him and took care of him for weeks, then released him, and he flew away (with difficulty, but, well).

I prefer Red too !! I let Pink for tasteless little owlets. (unless it is the "Pink" from the movie)...

You're most likely right. I don't think of it that way, as when I was an employee, even vacation time fell under "on leave".
