Stilton: It was clever, but for me became progressively more irritating with each level. I only got about a quarter of the way through and ditched it.

moonshineshadow: The game that stresses me at the moment is Schein. It is a cool game but I am now at a stage where there is lot of jumping while switching do different lights and while I normally never have problems in jump&run games this is driving me nuts. I always end up pressing the wrong buttons or at the wrong time. I think jump&run with more than two buttons plus direction to press is just too much for me :D
That sounds like the Mario levels where you had to spin jump to flip platforms... I hate those. Moving around and jumping I can do, even with some precision, but ask me to do something else while doing that and I start dying a lot...
By the way, I've just put my 200th game on my shelf... Huge THANKS to our AgentB for this !! \o/

My day is made...:)

innocuous77: Good morning everyone!

Now that my university decided to be smart and close today, I'm going to buy and play (two different things, trust me) a game.

I'm thinking Meat Boy or anything with Lego in the title is a bad choice? Although if I want to torture myself, I'll replay Two Worlds. Nice game, awful voice acting. I mean 3am info-mercial levels of bad.

Hope everyone has (or is having) a great day!
*hug* no no no, you misunderstood. Lego games are great. And they are not hard or frustrating at all. They are great fun!
(at least in my opinion) ;-)

Good morning. =)

Glad to see the powers that be pulled their heads out of their asses for once.

Unless you're in the mood for serious video game suffering, I'd actually recommend the Lego one.
Well, Lego Batman is my preference, but you might like the Harry Potter ones more.

Are you going to jump into Insomnia buying, or go for something else?

Additional - just looked at the new releases, and now I've got Sokobond to add to my list. It looks pretty interesting.

innocuous77: Super Meat Boy is awesome, but -really- hard. Ask Crow :-D

I personally never had problems with these in Mario. But now moving, jumping and switching between three different buttons for different light colors is just too much... The game started out great, I could manage with one color and with two colors it was a nice challenge... but now it is getting frustrating and I end up dying all the time

adaliabooks: I totally agree. The first few worlds (it had worlds didn't it? been years since I played it) were great but it got really frustrating by the end. I won it, but I didn't replay any of the last levels for high scores like I did the first few...
Plus I was disappointed with the sandbox build a tower mode... all you could really do was build square blocks on top of each other if you didn't want it to fall...
That's right, is was based on worlds, the major one being a world of disappointment. Another game I couldn't stand but gritted my way through was Abe's Oddysee. That thing drove me potty with trying to string a series of split second manoeuvres together. Very painful indeed.

I tend to misunderstand a lot of things before I've had coffee:)

Given that I've played Two Worlds, Krondor, Baldur's Gate and Skrim in the last 2 weeks, I'm thinking a nice mindless game would be nice. Lego, eh? I don't think I know how to play a game that doesn't make me want to tear my eyes out of their sockets...

maybe more coffee?

moonshineshadow: Sure, but a viking with a Batman cape and mask... I don't think it would fit that well ;-)

adaliabooks: You'd think... but apparently not ;)
It is a simple question of mathematics.

Vikings are awesome and Batman is awesome.

Thus a combination of the two of them can only result in awesomenes squared. Where awesomeness tends towards the infinite.

Awesome :)

I'm just over a quarter of the way there ;)
I think I'll be getting Bird Story. I really enjoyed the developer's other work, to the feels, I mean to the moon.

Hee - they've only pulled their heads out of their asses until 11am. I cancelled the rest of the day on my own (yes, your nice university professor is being replaced by YouTube today - let's see if anyone notices).

I'll give the Potter Lego thing a try. Otherwise, it's me, my box set of Game of Thrones and 4 cats warming themselves on my laptop...
