CarrionCrow: Also, I just experienced the main reason why I play games that are excruciatingly difficult.

It's frigging awesome to finally beat something that's been kicking your ass all over the place.

I just cleared a Cotton Alley level. The 40 Cotton Alley levels are some of the very hardest in the game. I died at least 500 times on one level.
But I finally beat it.
That's the healthy approach: determination (word preceded by colon this time) and persistence resulting in elation, rather than constant yelling fits and anger.

I died a thousand times on this one :

I don't really do the yelling fits. When I've reached my limit, I shut it off. I might play it again in an hour, I might not play it again for 2 days. But I refuse to let a game make me so livid that I'm ready to throw my controller across the room.

The bitch of that level is the crap that kills you as the blocks dissolve in a string. Every jump has to be perfect along with being fast so you don't get locked in when the blocks reform.

It's doable...you just have to be willing to die. A lot. -laughs-

No joke - that game stressed the hell out of me. Trying to get "OCD" on every level is not good for someone with OCD.

It was clever, but for me became progressively more irritating with each level. I only got about a quarter of the way through and ditched it.

j0ekerr: Not really, they were quite common.

And then, there's the awesomeness of the WOLF CLOAK!

moonshineshadow: Sure, but a viking with a Batman cape and mask... I don't think it would fit that well ;-)
You'd think... but apparently not ;)

The game that stresses me at the moment is Schein. It is a cool game but I am now at a stage where there is lot of jumping while switching do different lights and while I normally never have problems in jump&run games this is driving me nuts. I always end up pressing the wrong buttons or at the wrong time. I think jump&run with more than two buttons plus direction to press is just too much for me :D

I totally agree. The first few worlds (it had worlds didn't it? been years since I played it) were great but it got really frustrating by the end. I won it, but I didn't replay any of the last levels for high scores like I did the first few...
Plus I was disappointed with the sandbox build a tower mode... all you could really do was build square blocks on top of each other if you didn't want it to fall...

So do I, owl lady. So do I. But I've come to terms with it for that game. I will never be a person who completes the levels flawlessly.
But that's okay. I'll eventually beat all the levels, 100 percent the game, then nuke it off my hard drive so fast it's not even funny. =)
Good morning everyone!

Now that my university decided to be smart and close today, I'm going to buy and play (two different things, trust me) a game.

I'm thinking Meat Boy or anything with Lego in the title is a bad choice? Although if I want to torture myself, I'll replay Two Worlds. Nice game, awful voice acting. I mean 3am info-mercial levels of bad.

Hope everyone has (or is having) a great day!
