Stilton: Now I know what a JRPG is... Hey, I learned something!!
-laughs- Long story short, play a Final Fantasy game and you'll know what a JRPG is. Those are pretty much quintessential examples.

Unless of course you play something like 13. Then it's just an example of someone shitting on your hard drive and stealing money from your wallet while you're distracted cleaning it up.
Seeing the word 'owned' over, and over, and over is probably a sign I need a (another) 12 step program huh? :-)

So 13 or one of its ilk could be referred to as a T-U-R-D....

AgentBirdnest: It was not very popular. I don't think it was released outside of the US. Pretty good movie though... Leo is a great actor.
The withdrawals aren't as bad as that video... There are some similarities, though :-\
Luckily my best friend has been helping me through the worst of it, which makes it massively easier.
Thanks for the hug. ** Crushing return hug **

Free at last! Congrats! :-)
Well... I'll try to see if I can find it anyway... ! I like Leo too.
I'm glad and relieved to read you have your best friend around to help ! :)
** Extra-crushing Hug ** (you seem to handle them much better !!)

Stilton: What's a JRPG? Is it like an LDRKKHTUIILSG, or just an RPG with an added J to increase its intrigue?
Heyyyy Stillton !!! How are you ?... Long time no see !!! :D

Pretty much. Not all Final Fantasy games are created equal. Not by a godsdamned long shot.

If you ever have the opportunity and want a JRPG that's really really good? Final Fantasy 6.

And then some...

I was just about to respond to your commentary about 12 step programs.

Did you buy Alan Wake? Did you buy American Nightmare? No? Then it's not that bad.

Those games scare me, I've been wounded with a nail gun twice already. :-)

Yeesh...

I can say with certainty that there are no nailguns in the original Alan Wake, at least.
I've played through it once before on a console.
I had high hopes for Alan Wake, but I found him to be a tad suicidal as he doesn't respond very well to inputs. It got to the point where I wanted to hit him with the nearest heavy object to put him out of my misery. Nice scenery, though (lame finisher there, but that's me...)
Well, the good news is I don't have to work today. Freezing rain and sleet and 1/2 the city is closed.
Bad news is I have to get out to go to a doctors appointment and buy supplies anyway.
Oy Vey. ;)

He dodges like an 80 year old man coming off the anesthetic from hip replacement surgery.

Oooohh... I don't like the ER. So... I'm good :-)
A little bit weird from medication withdrawals, but that should be gone soon. Other than that, I'm feeling pretty great.
