EndreWhiteMane: Thank you! I almost didn't mention it because i was afraid you might do that. :-)
I'll load it up and play it tomorrow, I owe you one.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Don't worry about owing me anything. It sucks seeing a sale but not having cash at the moment to take advantage. Enjoy the game. =)
I'm sure I will, I have 3 and 4 but wanted to play this one first, now I can. ;)
Question Crow, you seem more interested in Pillars than Divinity. What do you see as the major differences?

Not yet, comes out March 26th.
Crow just seems very anxious for it so I wondered what appeals to him about it.

I'm interested in both, but Pillars seems like more of a Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale style, so I'm drawn to that a bit more, I think.

Will freely admit that I've kicked myself more than once for not getting Divinity the last time it was on sale, though.

Actually, will add Grimrock 2 to the "kicked myself over not buying it on sale" list.

I was thinking it seemed a bit more like Baldur's too but I'd wait a while for reviews anyway, almost sprung for Wasteland 2 out of the gate and now I'm rather glad I didn't.
Divinity on the other hand has a good track record already and Grimrock doesn't bother me since I haven't completed the first one yet. :-)

Understandable. Not to mention, dropping 45 or 60 dollars is a lot.
I can grab a lot of games, but that's because I stick to sales and pick them clean as much as possible.

Hotline Miami 2 was an exception since even the deluxe version is less than 20, and I enjoyed the first game so much that I'm looking forward to the second a lot. That doesn't happen with me very often.

Then on top of all that, I've been looking at my list and there are quite a few things that've been on there a long time. Thinking of saving money where I can til Summer, then picking the list apart oldest to newest.

Wasteland 2 isn't as much of a priority for me now since it's like you and Grimrock. Haven't cleared the first and the second's a direct sequel, so that's on the back burner.

Not counting any possible big sales, there's still 8 sales between now and the end of the month. Think I'll hold off, avoid dropping the day one coin on Pillars, keep on picking the list apart when I can get things cheap.
It's the smarter move overall by far when you think about that method being the difference between spending two thousand and five hundred.

Sounds like a plan to me. I won't be able to buy much for a few months so I'm going to try to stick with things that look like I'll actually play and enjoy them rather than 20 things that are cheap and I might like.
I have enough 'time killers' to last me 3 lifetimes. :-)

Update: billing done, omg still tons of work left for tonight. So I'll splurge on 3 of the 4 and leave Randal 'til his inevitable more than 50% discount in the near future. :)

Unfortunately, whenever I get home, I won't be able to play with the cat in the fedora since I'll be playing with the cat that has been left on his own during the 24 hours I've worked this weekend...

It will be hard to play cat with a cat stuck to your face. That's where mine'd be after 24 hours. :-)

Tell me about it. I want the list gone, but there are definitely items that look better than others.

-laughs- Daedalic items tend to be overpriced, but they also end up on sale relatively quickly.

I wonder if there's a correlation...

Sounds like you could use a break, and if your cat's like the ones here, you'll definitely have trouble playing with them wanting attention.

Have to say, it's nice playing a Dawn of War game that doesn't make me want to scream.
Also, the game actually having a damn story is a remarkable change of pace.

You hadn't been cursing much so I figured it must be a good one. :-)

The flow to Dawn of War 2 is SO much better. There's a story, there's progression, defense missions are at a bare minimum and I actually have reasons to do them.

I'll be having more fun doing Chaos Rising, though. Played as good guys last time, so this time around I'm going to have the most deranged, vile, Chaos-ridden bastards imaginable.
We have a what a you playing thread, what are you reading..., ...music...

Is there a similar thread about movies/tv shows?
