LaPtiteBete: I've always told you about that... I think... But I'm not a reference, I was scared as f*ck by "alone in the dark", back in time... :-|
I remember you mentioning it. I am usually not that keen on scary games, but every so often I like to give them a play. But it's been a while, and Outlast is the first game that I will have played where you run around with no weapons and have to hide. So it should be fun and scary, hopefully. :-)

But if I get too scared and I can always get my partner to play it with me, having some support should help with all the scary people at the asylum. :-)

ddickinson: I own Amnesia as well (the first game, not the pig one), but I have not played it yet. I was not to keen on the look of Lone Survivor, but I hear many people love it.
Lone Survivor after Driftmoon should be quite a contrast. :-)

AgentBirdnest: Good evening, little owl! *big hug*
How are you doing?

LaPtiteBete: Pretty fine !!! Back from a birthday party :-D I've seen friends I hadn't seen for a long while, and they were happy to see me too... We talked a lot, and laughed a lot... it was great. :)
I've just read (you're not the only one with spying skills in here !) that you were back from your exams and feel... I quote... "pretty well" ; glad to read that it went fine !! :-) How is your afternoon going... ? (it is grammatically correct ? õ__ô)
Glad you had a great time :-)
I'm impressed with your spying skills, PtiteAgent ;-) My afternoon is going great. I'm just relaxing and talking to you fine people. A great end to the day :-) (I think you are grammatically correct, but I did fail my English classes in high-school...)

tinyE: Lone Survivor is fun but it has this weird ass bug of putting you in nightmare difficulty right in the middle of a game. I still haven't figured that out.
That is a strange bug. I just has a look about it on the sub-forum and it seems like a long time bug. A user on there mentions a kind of fix for it, but you would think the developer would get of his butt and fix it.

I hope people here are having a better day than I am, although mine could have been worse. For starters, my mom got the news that her platelet count is low, but not low enough for her to have to go into the hospital for blood right away. She has had liver and thyroid issues following her bouts with cancer, and what worries me the most is that this is how her sister and mother died.

Meanwhile my dad is still barely cognizant, full of painkillers which don't seem to be doing all that much and apparently with an indifferent staff again:They were meant to have him sit in a chair for an hour today he told me on the phone, but they left him sitting alone for 2 hrs.

My sister's still in NYC and was told by my parents not to come home this weekend even though she would be a great help, but they're the kind of people who do that sort of thing. She doesn't know half of what's going on, really, since they try not to worry her. I know she hates that, so I tell her the latest and keep her updated, which causes my mom to berate and fight with me,but if she'd just be honest in the first place I wouldn't need to do that.

Times like this I wish I still got fucked up, but that's the one downside to having my barely-paying job:Drug testing.

It's really nothing and frankly I feel guilty even bothering with it but I was able to get X-Wing VS TIE Fighter working in widescreen mode thanks to gog support, so at least there's that.

ddickinson: That sounds like a nice weekend. I also read your reply to Agent, and I am glad you had a nice day today.

I'm hoping to have a nice restful day on Sunday. I am at work Saturday, but I have all of Sunday free, so I will probably just spend the day relaxing at home. Hopefully after some extra rest my sleeping will sort itself out. I have been managing about an hour or two broken sleep for the past week or so, and it's starting to take it's toll, especially at work.

*random hug*
I hope so, DD... really. I understand your point ; we're not machines... I hope you'll have a very restful Sunday, then !! :) and than both you and your partner will feel as good as new on Monday... :)

Sorry to hear your still having to go through that, downside of being a responsible and caring person. :/
Go for a flight and kick some ass, make ya feel better. ;)

Sounds like -the- solution... I'm sure I'll manage to play it if I had some support too... I've already played Resident Evil (with someone to support me) :-p

You still speak english much better than I do !! ^^

Funny thing, I picked up F.E.A.R. yesterday and in all my years it's really the only game that ever really gave me the creeps. Sure there are scares to be had in other games but it's because of shit jumping out at you; F.E.A.R. actually managed to give me the chills just walking through a room.

I don't think anything i'm doing is what someone else wouldn't do for their parents. I mean, no one wants to watch their parents get sick and die.

You don't bother anyone in here, Ragnar !! You're going through something, and it's always better to get it off your chest. You'll always find friendly ears in this thread... so don't hesitate to vent, at any time.
And I would have do the same, about telling your sister... without hesitation...
I really hope things will improve very soon for you and your family... :-| hang on !!

Sorry to hear that Ragnar. I have send you a message via PM. *big comfort hug*

How are you enjoying X-Wing VS TIE Fighter? I know it is a game you were looking forward to playing?

Thank you. I think my partner will need another week or so, but hopefully I just need to a day of rest and then I will be back to sleeping normally and I can stop feeling so tired all the time. Especially as next week I am up on the roof of the second greenhouse.

*return hug*

I will be okay with it by myself, it is just a game, and while it will probably have me jumping out of my skin, it won't really bother me. But having someone there is always nice, as it give you some company while exploring the scary asylum in Outlast. :-)

I used to enjoy that game. I picked it up again recently when it was added to GOG. Perhaps I should give it a replay, as I don't really remember it being that scary. But it has been a long time since I played it, so I probably just forgot.

You would be surprise how many would just run and abondon their family in times like this. You should not be so hard on yourself or hold what you are doing in such low regard. And as Owl said, you are always welcome to share how you are feeling here, as you have seen, the members of the thread are lovely people who are happy to listen. *another big comfort hug*
Finally got another game cleared. Just one more and I'm completely done with the Anomaly series.

The slog continues...

The problem with me is I keep playing games I already won dozens of times before. :P Never going to get through my backlog like that.
