All right... I hope you'll manage to fix all that and recover very soon, then... !!! **Big healing Hug**

AgentBirdnest: Remember Y2K? That was fun :-)
I just sat and watched all the crazy people while eating a bowl of popcorn... Even back then, I never understood how people fell for that.
Just think of it as a service to the world. We in the Old World love watching Americans take all these doomsday prophecies seriously. But then America was founded by a bunch of religious fanatics (no offence), why do you think there have been so many cults and new religions coming from America. That's one of the reasons why people left for America, becasue Europe did not tolerate that kind of thing as freely. Not that strange religious cults etc. did not happen in Europe, but they seem to be more common in the US. Let's not forget, the evil cult called Steam was born in the US. :-)

Odd how history books differ from place to place.
Mine say America was founded by a bunch of anti-opressionists. :-)

Morning everyone!

Have there been many religious mass-suicides in Europe over the last 50 years? It seems like we have had quite a lot.

Luckily for me, Mormonism was founded here. Otherwise I wouldn't exist... :-|

Yeah, even between the states. Mine say it was founded by God and nobody else :-)

Good morning, Endre!

Morning Agent! Sorry you feel weird today, I do too for some reason, kinda like I'm awake but still asleep, if that makes any sense. ;)

Erm, I can debate this, but I often find that people are very one sided with their opinions, especially Americans when it comes to their independence. And I do not want to cause any fight or hard feeling with my lovely American friends. But remember I was very close to getting my doctorate in history, so I might know a thing or two about it. Not that some not anti-opressionints, but do you think things were any better after independence? Or did the many slave owning business men and politicians who took control tell the people it was that way (nothing says anti-opressionists like owning thousands of slaves after all :-))? But let us just agree to disagree and not cause any hard feelings.

I don't hear of any mass-suicides in England, but I am not sure about the rest of Europe, it's definitely not something I have heard much about.

And why would you not exist without Mormonism? In the grand design of things, your parents could have easily met elsewhere outside of religion, then there would still be an Agent in the world. :-)

My brother and I call that "dolphin sleep". I read once that dolphins never fully sleep - they always have half of their brain awake. (I'm not sure if it's true...)
I hope you'll feel better soon.
Luckily, I'm doing a little better just from talking to the fine people here :-)

As I understand it, my father's ancestors converted to Mormonism in Europe, then moved to America to be closer to the center of it.
It would be a bit more difficult for my parents to find each other if they lived 8,500km away, without the internet :-P

That's true. But I found something else that would be catastrophic if there were no Mormons. Endre would not have any nurses or cheerleaders to play with. :-)

No hard feelings, I was just joking with you. Most countries could have done many things much better than they did.
Neither you nor I were around at the time to do anything about it so can just do our best from here. :-)

I completely agree, no country is perfect, we all have parts of our histories that are unacceptable, the important thing it to learn from that and try to improve ourselves. But in the end, for the most part there are some awesome people in the US, so I guess it all turned out fine. If only you had kept your capitalism to yourself. And Justin Bieber. I know he is Canadian, but you guys publish his music. :-)

Hahaha... Oddly enough, just two days ago I got a note saying that my friend will be home in 100 days. Thank you, Endre ;-)
