I think you would recognise him, he would be the one wearing a cloak and trying to use the Jedi mind trick to make the animal settle down. :-)

I can't see him getting his career choice to be honest. His parent's money will only get him so far. Universities here are a lot less corrupt than other places, so I think he will end up just living off mummy and daddy.

adaliabooks: I admit I'm pretty careful with stuff (particularly electronics) but I've never actually broken a phone... all my phones have lasted until I choose to upgrade them. To be honest very few things I've owned have ever broken...
Admittedly I don't work anywhere I'm at risk of being kicked or crushed by a horse :/
I am usually careful with things, but horses and falling through roofs are things that are beyond my control. I also don't really see the point of a phone that costs so much, but then I am not one to follow all the modern technology crowd, if I was, I would be using laser scalpels. :-)

On deck, there's a reminder of why FMV was smothered to death, a reason why David Cage should be smothered to death, and a game in which someone being smothered to death might actually be an improvement since they managed to generate mind-numbing boredom out of a game wherein the main character wields a chainsaw, an event that in the hands of any competent developer could not and would not ever happen.

In fact I'm currently playing another game, in which the main character only wears short shorts, belts or maybe garters, the distinction is tenuous at best, and the pointiest bra I've ever seen in fiction or otherwise.

Strangely enough, the game itsefl would be pretty decent if it weren't for ALL THE CHEESE! The story is ludicrous enough as it is without the whole array of dairy products that accompany it.

If a narrator's voice has sent you on the verge of a homicidal frenzy, play some startopia, not only does this narrator have a voice that qualifies as audio erotica, but I think is the same man who voiced the original radio version of the hitchhiker's guide.

Most people here can't tell the difference between a londoner, a scotsman or a welshman, to them, they're all "those pasty white football hooligans who drink ludicrous amounts of beer".

I ain't exaggerating that last part. Celtic once played over here, so we were invaded by Glasgowians. According to newspapers, two and a half months of beer production were consumed in a bit under three days.

It should be obvious at this point that my knowledge of those stereotypes comes from first hand accounts during a succesful infiltration. Remember my mentioning of my 3rd grade history syllabus?

I don't spend much money on a phone either, I tend to wait till they are cheap and get them free with a contract... But I love my smartphone, I never use it as a phone, it's more often used to post here and check emails :)

Right, in antiquated 13 year old video game player logic, that makes perfect sense.

I wouldn't say the narrator makes me want to kill them.
They just have a grand total of one note, with no sign whatsoever of that note changing any time soon.

As for cauterising the wounds, I really don't think this kid would even know what that meant, even from overhearing other stuff he mentioned to his friends, he sounded so uneducated. I get the feeling his parents will probably just bribe someone eventually to get him his job as a vet.
Some food for thought about the lasers cauterizing hollywood idea.

Any coherent laser powerful enough to be used as a weapon, would upon hitting a human body, flash-boil the water in the tissue directly affected. The steam would expand explosively, shredding the surrounding tissue thus creating a ragged and profusely bleeding wound, more akin to a hollow point gunshot than the neat, tiny, smoking, cauterized hole from movies.

Perhaps he could serve as a test subject for said laser weapons?

Have I mentioned that I frigging hate platformer collectibles, or really any collectibles at all when the developer hasn't made collecting them interesting?

Also? Holy shit, I just cleared a level that's murdered me at least 2 to 4 hundred times. And I got the bandage.

But the intense heat would cauterise the wound instantly, so there would be no bleeding. But who knows, we are some way off from having anything like that, and especially from having it as medical tools, not that it's practical. I think people believe what they see on TV too much.

Ever since mobile phones became a thing for everyone and not just the yuppies with too much money and too little sense, I've had a grand total of five devices.

My first one was an alcatel which ran on batteries. The rechargeable pack, was just three rechargeable batteries bundled together in a plastic wrap. The second one, a phillips which I loved, because of its sleek design and general usefulness, was stolen. My third phone was a tiny clamshell alcatel. The fourth, a huawei that I got because I wanted to experiment with a touchscreen phone, it still works and is being used by a relative. My current phone is an android device which I bought again because I wanted to jump onto the smartphone bandwagon.

As far as making and receiving calls go, the old clamshell device was perfectly satisfactory.

I think my old game gear still works, although the volume wheel was kind of finicky.

And I also still have this complete with its original box.

That depends, as I see it, the blood would boil instantly and the vapour explode outward, picture a pressure cooker with a blocked valve. Yes it's very hot but that heat dissipates just as fast, so the wound would not be cauterized.

And they do exist, the main problem with a laser is the power source. A surgical laser is something that can be connected to a main power grid. Not to mention, works at a much lower energy range than a laser rifle would.

As far as I know, there is quite a bit of research and some more or less working prototypes of laser weapons. Although they all are artillery sized ones.

Also, dayum girl, looks like power armour would most certainly be handy around the farm.

Confirmed, the startopia narrator is not Peter Jones, but William Franklyn who voiced 'the book' in the tertiary, quandary and quintessential phases, due to the disappareance of the former.

His voice is smooth.

Have to level with you, though. I don't see them doing anything about any part of the forum any time soon, aside from those "oh shit, we broke something really bad and people are getting pissed, need to fix it now" scenarios.
