budejovice: Pretty much set on the NVIDIA 970 for my gpu. I'll build the rest around that - no desire to overclock or liquid cool or anything very fancy. That should handle everything in my backlog plus hopefully Cyberpunk 2077. :)

LaPtiteBete: Looks really cool... That said, I don't know much about computers :") I have a laptop... (Acer Aspire V3-772GTX-54206G1TMakk... it's pretty good for gaming) :)

Hey everyone.. sorry for my absence today...

We've had some bad news today :(

Sherwood, our ill cat, came home last night but he wasn't very well. We were up with him for quite a lot of the night and this morning we had to take him to the vets and have him put to sleep.
We had our differences me and him.. he liked to bite me if I so much as touched me for one, and he once attacked my girlfriend so badly she had to go to A & E to get patched up, but I loved that cat.
As I've mentioned before he had cancer three years ago and had been in the clear up until the last few months were his health started to deteriorate again. In the end we're not really sure what it was, just that he had lost a lot of weight and had no appetite and was very weak. This morning my partner, our vet and I decided that putting him to sleep was the best option as he was started to suffer and showed no signs of getting better.

So it's not been the best day. My partner adored Sherwood and it's hit us both quite hard. It hasn't quite sunk in yet and we're still expecting him to come and sit beside us on the couch...

I know I've said no to hugs in the past, but today I could do with all the virtual hugs you can give :(

Sorry to bring everyone down, but I had to share. I hope everyone else has had a better day.

Thanks Crow. We knew he was going to die eventually, and have been expecting it since his diagnosis three years ago. And in the last few months even more so, but despite that damn if it hasn't hit hard...

I'm really sorry to hear this, adaliabooks. My thoughts are with you and your partner. He is free from suffering and that is a good thing.

Just this once... hugs!

Yeah...knowing something's going to go bad, and actually dealing with it as it happens...

You can prepare for it somewhat, but not fully.

Thanks :)

Yeah, we always said we would let him go if we thought he was suffering and in pain and it had gotten to that point. It wasn't fair on him when he was clearly not getting better and had no quality of life any more.

There are few things I hate more than seeing animals in fear or pain. It sounds like it was, obviously very difficult, but the wise and compassionate thing to do.

What was his name? Do you have any photos you would like to share in this thread?

= "we're still expecting him to come and sit beside us on the couch..." = It took me many weeks/months before I even stopped "hearing" her mew outside, or expect her to wait at the door... Be well...

adaliabooks: Hey everyone..
I'm so sorry... I can't even imagine how hard that must have been.
I don't even know what to say... So I'm just going to hug you instead.

*Big comforting hug*

His name was Sherwood, we called him Woody. That's him on the couch (the tabby) with his sister Loxley (my girlfriend is a big Robin Hood fan).
