moonshineshadow: That is why I am living on my own and just visit my parents regularly. My mum can't tell me what to do with my rooms :D So I can do whatever I want. At least until she comes to visit ;-)

ddickinson: Even when you live alone, mums are still all powerful and in control. They have this special power that makes them head of the family, what they say must be done, or else. And no distance is great enough to stop them. :-)

It's fun seeing my mum take charge, my three brothers and my dad revert to little boys when she is telling them off. She very rarely shouts, she just calmly speaks. But you can feel the power she wields, having 4 big strong men not dare go against what she tell them to do. And men really think they are in charge of things. :-)

EndreWhiteMane: CARIBBEAN! is on GOG's Twitch channel if anyone is interested.

ddickinson: Are you still thinking of getting the game? Or have all the bad reviews put you off the idea?
Not all men, some of us learned better long ago. :-) Women want to be in charge, let 'em. :-)
I work for 4 women now, no worries except for one and that's just because she and I are too much alike.

I want the game badly but not until I see if the devs follow through. No money atm anyway.

As a side note I am starting to type (and talk) in a mix of 3 different versions of English, it's driving my spell checker, and fellow employees, bonkers! :-)
You Brits and Aussies have corrupted my perfectly boring mid-western American English. :-)

That is the problem when you are native English. For me it is great, I am learning new things :D

Well my comment was meant mainly as a joke, not some statement on the superiority of either sex.

The game does seem to be getting a lot of bad press. But then what do they expect if they release a game before it is finished.

What words are you starting to spell differently? :-)

I'll repost what I posted in the announcement thread, but won't omit the full statement from the Snowbird website this time:

"Caribbean!" will be released in 5 days, still unfinished!

That's right, as of this moment the date of release has been set to 20 th February 2015. But the game will not contain a lot of features on it's day of release. Interestingly enough, the game will receive content crucial(!) to the game, AFTER the official release.

Giving an incomplete list of things that will be there from the beginning :
- Completely new fame / renown system.
Become renowned sailor, feared pirate, well known merchant or outlawed smuggler. What you can do within a game depends on whether you choose to get military or trading fame.
- Taxes and smuggling
- New Quest receiving system
- Completely new Town outlay, and different system of building in towns.
- New economy system
- Character traits
- Many other minor and major things. Really kinda lot (More than any other
- Advanced Diplomacy and troop commanding
- Advanced morale system, having a lot more impact on the battles than ever
Mount & Blade game before)

But the game will have features that will be added to the game LATER and this are very crucial! Contains the following :

- Multiplayer Game (!) - That's right, the initial release does not contain multiplayer, players have to wait for it to be finished first.
- Naval sieges
- Creating your own towns
- Strategic kingdom control
- Units forming regiments in fights (Player and NPC owned troops with officers, drummers, flag bearers marching in one formation)
- Fort / Castle management - Need to repair walls, buying cannons and other things to make it harder for the attacker.
- Ability to enter taverns
- Native tribes
- Walking on the city scene
- Female characters.

As you can see the amount of things that will NOT be added on the initial release, is so big, you could already form a new M&B game out of it, but developers calm us, that all or at least most of this features will still be added to the game, later and most importantly for FREE.

What game are you talking about if it is unreleased it's pretty hard because we have not have just perhaps some hype.

It seems like they released it way too early. That list is not just a few minor things, but things that will likely take a long time to implement. By which time the game's popularity will have dropped and they will not see the financial gain in continuing development. It sounds like people should be very careful when buying this game, as it could turn out to never get finished.

Little one's like ass=arse, mom=mum, no problem=no worries, pop=soda, and the avoiding of words with very different connotations in different countries.
It helps that I lived with a Brit for 3 years, it's kinda fun too. :-)

ddickinson: Good day, everyone!

*hugs for those who want them, and bugger all for the anti-huggers* :-)

Well in that case I will go with the safe handshake greeting. It seems the number of a anti-huggers is getting bigger and bigger. :-)
Eh? Well now hugs are acceptable from you, I thought we had a better rapport than that.

I was referring to Caribbean that has just been released. As Ragnar just posted above, there are lots of features missing.
Holy crap...just woke up and looked at the computer clock...

Yay for narcolepsy. It's like sucky time travel.

Notwithstanding the fact that it is, in so many ways, merely a glorified Warband mod. Still, it supposedly at some point in the foreseeable future in our lifetimes do things that Warband does not do well or at all.

That's not too bad. I have been chatting with a few Americans or non native speakers that use American English and have gotten them starting to use proper English spellings as well.

If I can get all Americans to say "couldn't care less" instead of "could care less" and "hold the fort" instead of "hold down the fort" then I will be happy. :-)

I wasn't sure who you would class as acceptable people to hug. So I went with a safe option. But if you are okay with virtual hugs, then have a *big virtual hug* :-)

You didn't miss much.
Oh, women have taken over the world while you were gone.
That's about all though. :-)
