ddickinson: Good morning!

How are we? Well I will share today's quote with you again, just in case you don't read the older posts. That should summarise how we all are. :-)

"But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”
~ Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

How are you today?

adaliabooks: Don't worry, I pretty much try and read every post so I saw it earlier, very fitting :)
I was almost going to ask how everyone was in wonderland ;)

I'm ok... we were up late last night with the cat because he wasn't well and then had to get up get up early and take him to the vets for 8.30am. They've kept him in and put him on a drip because he was really dehydrated but while we were worried this might be it for him the vet didn't seem too worried and thought it might just be a blip... so fingers crossed he'll come out the other side..

And on that cheery note what are you up to other than slogging through bad games? I see Crow's habits are catching.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that your fluffball recovers quickly.

Always shitty when you've got a pet in bad health, sorry you and your girlfriend are having to deal with that.

Additional - going to sleep for a bit.

I hope everyone who's having a good day continues to do so, and anyone who's having a bad day gets some improvement so the day ends up decent at the very least.

Talk with you all later on. =)

You are very welcome. Always glad to try to share gifts with people on this thread. :-)

Edit: Enjoy your sleep. Sleep well!

Thank you both :)
It sucks but he hasn't ever really been well since the cancer and we're kind of prepared for the worst, but we've been here a few times before and he's been fine so hopefully that's what happens again..

I know how having a pet with cancer can be. My experience did not turn out well, but I hope you will have more luck and your cat will be fine.

Thanks, unfortunately I don't think he will ever be 'fine' again :(
One way or another I can't see him recovering from his current problems. He's lost loads of weight and no matter what we do seems to have pretty constant diarrhoea.. this may not be the end but I can't see him lasting too much longer :(
But that being said we thought the same thing after his diagnosis and operation and that was three years ago, so who knows.

But enough of that depressing topic. Anyone doing anything nice for the weekend?

At least you know you have tried and you gave him the best shot at it. That's all any of us can do.

Other than spending some time on a dead Irish Island (Montague's Mount), nothing much. I'm visiting my partner's family for the day tomorrow, but we were trying to avoid depressing topics. :-)

Yeah.

Haha, thanks that made me smile ;)
Sorry you have to go through that again, at least it's just for a day this time.

Can't say that spending time on a dead Irish island sounds like much fun (especially after reading what you've already said about the game). Definitely doesn't sound like my cup of tea, I had enough of the Irish language when I had to study it in school.. I don't think I would enjoy having it forced down my throat in a game.

CarrionCrow: Don't be too hard on yourself.

I don't like sports games. You don't like scary games. Nothing wrong with having something you don't enjoy.
(says the man who is always hard on himself !!! ^^)
But... I like scary games !! I'd love to be able to play them... :"<

How are you doing ? :)

AgentBirdnest: Good mornoon.
My ribs still hurt from yesterday's barrage of rib-cracking hugs... Other than that, I'm doing pretty well :-)
*Using my agent skills to find out how you are doing... Found it!* I'm glad that you are "great"! :-)
** Slightly bigger hug than yesterday ** (one step at a time...)
You make progress !!! \o/
Keep on training...
And congrats for your spying skills !!
** A bit tighter hug **

*may contain spoilers to Montague's Mount, please don't read if you intend to play the game and don't want it slightly spoiled.*

The story does interest me, and I think it is helping to redeem the game, but I still find it a little dull. I can see their being a twist at the end, and hopefully it won't be a cliffhanger ending, setting everything up for a future game. So far, the story is enough for me to recommend the game at a low price, just as long as you don't expect anything epic. Some of the game does lose it's sense of realism as I am playing it, like light sources showing where there is no lamp, the sheer number of bodies on a small island, or candles alight despite the place seeming long dead. Even if it's not long dead, who would be lighting all these candles in empty houses?

It's definitely more enjoyable than Mind: Path to Thalamus, and if the story does keep getting more interesting then I might forgive it for some of it's poorer elements. At the moment I would say two stars, if the story continues to be interesting, I would say three, providing you get it on sale.

It should be okay, it's just for the day and there is only my partner's direct family there this time, not a bunch of them from all over. So at least I will only have to put up with one horrible person (the mother).

Hi owl. Thank you.
Nah, haven't really got anything planned either. Just a few bits and pieces of business stuff and some programming probably.
We start to get busy again as of next weekend which is good. Our first big event of the year which should hopefully be a good one.

That's great to hear. I hope thinks start to pick up for you now that the worst of the weather seems to be behind us. Of course, there are always the floods to look forward too, but hopefully they won't effect your trade too much. :-)

As long as you're enjoying it a little. I don't usually mind things like odd lights and candles lit with no ryhme or reason but in a game that's trying to be atmospheric it can definitely spoil it.

I agree. Generally I would never be so picky, I get that it's to build atmosphere, but when you are trying to go for immersion and realism, it can spoil things a little. It's nothing major, but it just spoils the illusion of being on the island all alone.
