CarrionCrow: You know what else looks creepy?

Outlast. I need a good stormy night (but not one that knocks the frigging power out) to play that one during. =)
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Yeah, I know. I bought it because it was very cheap at last sales...
I played.... 3 minutes and 42 seconds. I couldn't even enter the hospital. >__< I really wanted to get back into the car and clear off... lol. Coward.
Don't be too hard on yourself.

I don't like sports games. You don't like scary games. Nothing wrong with having something you don't enjoy.

AgentBirdnest: Hello, little owl! I didn't see you come in!
That is great about your sleep!
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Good mornoon, Agent !!
How are you doing ? :)
** Training Hug**
Good mornoon.
My ribs still hurt from yesterday's barrage of rib-cracking hugs... Other than that, I'm doing pretty well :-)
*Using my agent skills to find out how you are doing... Found it!* I'm glad that you are "great"! :-)
** Slightly bigger hug than yesterday ** (one step at a time...)

(Yes, that's a threat.)

ddickinson: Have a nice day at work! *goodbye hug*

LaPtiteBete: Thanks for your reviews anyway :-) it's always good to know...
I don't play much at the moment...
I played and finished "the last door" within a few days... It's quite short... not bad ! but the story is a bit weird (and a bit complicated for a french owl, with both supernatural and psychological stuff)... you must love huge pixels, too... and it's moreover too easy. It doesn't need you rack your brains a lot... and... there's no end... kind of "to be continued in chapter 2"... >__< ... (the sequel isn't released yet, if I am not mistaken)...
avatar
ddickinson: I have not been playing much, but I am trying to get some of my backlog played. This last week has been the first time in months I have been able to just relax and play some games, which is nice, even if they are boring games. :-)

I liked The Last Door, and I hope when the second batch are done we will get them here on GOG. I felt the pixel graphics were a bit too pixel for my liking, but the story was very interesting, it reminded me a lot of Edger Allen Poe's works. You are right about it being too easy, but part of this is probably due to the pixel style - you can't do complicated puzzles with such graphics. I think it is a bit over-priced considering it's free to play online, and considering it's only short. But it was a nice game, especially as you got closer to the end.

ddickinson: Outlast is my Halloween game for this year. I am going to put some headphones on, sit in a dark room, and see how scary the game is. :-)
It sounds like that would be a good one.

There are a few other horror games on GOG, but I don't think any of them are going for the same kind of scariness as that one.

Normally I'm not to big on horror games, except stuff like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, but I will be playing it on Halloween, and I thought it would be a fitting game. What other horror games are on GOG?
Afternoon all.
How are the fine folk of GoG today?

Let's see...

Waxworks, Personal Nightmare, Realms of the Haunting, Phantasmagoria 1 and 2, Lone Survivor Director's Cut, Amnesia, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, Alone in the Dark 1-4, Sanitarium.

And if you're looking for different genres with horror elements, you've got things like 7th Guest, 11th Hour, Cat Lady, Downfall, Clive Barker's Undying, Dracula 1-5, Dark Fall 1-3, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Knock-Knock, Lucius...

Course, your own level of fear or whatever will probably vary quite a bit, but those are all the games I can think of on GOG that at least try to include some kind of horror thing in their game.

Good morning!

How are we? Well I will share today's quote with you again, just in case you don't read the older posts. That should summarise how we all are. :-)

"But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Good afternoon. =)

I just ate crumbly quasi-meatloaf while looking through my folder for horror games.

I forgot Penumbra.

I have everything I listed aside from Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Lucius.
Wanted to get Scratches, but it got pulled. Damn it.
Don't forget F.E.A.R.
My personal favourite when it comes to horror.
Amnesia was too scary for me. At least I had guns in F.E.A.R. :-D

Don't worry, I pretty much try and read every post so I saw it earlier, very fitting :)
I was almost going to ask how everyone was in wonderland ;)

I'm ok... we were up late last night with the cat because he wasn't well and then had to get up get up early and take him to the vets for 8.30am. They've kept him in and put him on a drip because he was really dehydrated but while we were worried this might be it for him the vet didn't seem too worried and thought it might just be a blip... so fingers crossed he'll come out the other side..

And on that cheery note what are you up to other than slogging through bad games? I see Crow's habits are catching.

I just had a quick look at my stash of gift codes, and sadly I don't have any for Scratches, of you would have been welcome to have it.

*may contain minor spoilers about Montague's Mount*
Another thing that is strange and ruins the realism of Montague's Mount, is that there are about 4-5 small one room cottages, but I have seen dozens of graves and bodies all gathered at one point. Where do they all live? I know it's just a game, but these kind of games are supposed to have some realist, otherwise the story is just ruined. The story, by the way, is quite interesting, a kind of mystery about what is going on. Definitely more engaging than the story in Mind.

I am sorry to hear about your cat. I hope the vet is right and it is just a blip. I'm sure he will be back home with you in no time. *comfort hug*
