CarrionCrow: I'd say that's not only a fitting quote for here, but for life in general.

Good morning. =)

ddickinson: Very true, we are all mad, in our own little way. :-)

Good morning, Crow! How is the day treating you so far?

G'morning DD.

avatar
ddickinson: Hello, sleepy l0rdtr3k! *morning hug*

I am glad you had a fun night playing Alpha Centauri. Hopefully you will have a nice relaxing weekend.

avatar
moonshineshadow: *good morning hugs* Good day to everyone
avatar
ddickinson: Good morning, Moon! *big morning hug*

Sorry to hear things are not too good today. If there is ever anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask. *another big comforting hug*
Haven't slept yet, need more coffee, and neck-deep in Meat Boy since apparently beating it twice to get the true ending isn't going to be enough.
And so, I'm slowly trying to 100 percent the thing.

In other words, pretty standard night here. -laughs-

How's the day going for you and yours so far?

No complains so far. It's a nice cold but sunny day, and there are lots of birds singing in the trees, which is always nice to listen to.

There is very little to do indoors today, so I might get a chance to play some more Montagues Mount and see if it improves, thought I doubt it. It's a nice idea, just poorly implemented. You walk too slow, the text is a mixture of English, then for some reason Irish with English in small brackets below. It's almost like it's a language learning game and they want to show you the different words. A lot of useless items activate the information cursor, just to show you the Irish name for it. I'm fine with the games key elements being in Irish (with the English translation shown), it is set on a small Irish island, but I don't like all the pointless items having interactive elements. yeah it's only a quick flash of text, but it's pointless. It's a game, not a language course. Another annoying thing is all the achievement messages that keep popping up and spoiling the immersion in the game. It's even disabled in the options and still shows them. That just ruins the illusion of being in the game for me. If I wanted pointless achievements I would be using Steam.

It sounds nice where you are.

The game sounds like crap, though. -laughs-

Can't say I've seen something like that before. Maybe they're insecure about their culture, so they want to make sure that anyone playing it sees what they want to show no matter what?

I think it was a big "art" thing and they sell it as one of the first games highlighting the Irish language. Which is fine, but it's silly when you click on a diary page (scattered unrealistically about the place) that is written in English. The game's puzzles remind me of Resident Evil puzzles (not very realistic and scattered all over the place, like collecting two gems to unlock a key, that kind of thing), which are not a bad thing, as the ones in Resident Evil were okay, but it does make this game lose some realism, like the diary pages all over the place from different people, or the strange puzzles.

I actually prefer it more than Mind: Path To Thalamus, if only becasue the story seems more interesting, thanks to the diary pages feeding you bits of information here and there, and becasue the puzzles offer some variation, not just moving a bloody sphere around. I will keep playing until I finish it, but I feel it could have been so much better. I also read that it's part one of a series of games, but so far no sign of a squeal (not that I have looked hard for it), so I wonder if the story will just abruptly end. Either way I won't be getting the second game, unless the story picks up, in which case it would be a bundle only game, as the regular asking price is too much for this game, for me at least.

Can I have my morning hugs now?
Gonna finish something on Terraria now. Also,am I the only one that can't get into the Gothic and Risen series? I found them boring, cluncky and player hostile.
But other than that,I'll also play other stuff now outside my 3DS for a while. Also, next week a shipment will arrive in the museum and I'll have to help sort shit out,fun right?
Am I the only one who sometimes looks at the GOG game shelf and sees games I don't remember buying?

I already gave you your morning hug here. But you can have another one. *morning hug*

I have not played the Gothic or Risen games, so I can't comment, they did not seem like my kind of game.

What kind of shipment is due at the museum? That sounds like a fun and interesting job.
Morning all, glad most of you are doing well today.
27 degrees F here, woohoo!
Moon, what's the matter today my lovely Valkyrie?
Need a great big PHFFFFFFFTTTTTTT! ?
Good afternoon, everyone !!! :-D
I hope you're doing well !!!
I slept 8 hours in a row... that feels awesome !! I feel enough rested for the entire coming week...
Some new equipment.
And I know the feel of looking at your games(and movies) library and thinking,"when the hell did I bought this?"

If they're trying for a more serious, realistic tone, it sounds like they've flubbed a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't ever a sequel. Big pitfall of people who want to put out segmented games - they don't always get finished, for whatever reason.

Hell, THQ screwed up on that one, so an independent developer's chances of failure would be even higher.

If it's any consolation, I have the game on my list. Whenever I can get it at a good price, I'll be picking it up also.

And no, you're not the only one that happens to, by any means. It's happened to me more than once, despite my best efforts to have a handle on what I actually own.

Good morning. =)

I think my right thumb is harboring thoughts of amputating itself to get out of our abusive relationship, but otherwise I can't complain.

It sounds downright balmy where you are, maybe you'll get to go to the beach after all. =)

Happy to hear you got a decent amount of rest.

The game could be good, it needs some more polish and some importations, but it could have been a good game, the story is quite intriguing. I have a feeling it is very short, which would be another let down. If the developer wants to charge such a high price for this, then he could at least include the second part for free as an incentive. But that won't happen, like you said, it probably won't even get made.

Well at least I know it's not just me. :-)

I have Ether One on my shelf and I have no idea when I bought it.
