LaPtiteBete: Yep ! no more coffee, I drink a glass of wine now :-p
You have many cats ??
avatar
CarrionCrow: Oh yes. There are seven here, as well as three dogs. Bit of a packed house, to put it mildly.
Owly Cow :-O !!! that's a lot of animals...
avatar
CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Can't complain here, digging through piles looking for games that are actually good.

Shocking, I know.

How's your day been?
Good evening! *evening hug*

I am glad to hear you got some sleep.

My day has been quite good, thank you. Although I think your evil self torturing ways are starting to effect me. I finished Mind: Path to Thalamus, now I am trying Montague's Mount, both are games I am glad I got in a bundle.

LaPtiteBete: Hey DD ! :-D What's new ?
avatar
ddickinson: HI, Owl! *big hug*

Not much new, but I see you have all been playing with unicode characters. :-)

I'm not sure how clear these are in a small font, or if they work for everyone (the last character is supposed to be a Fleur-de-lis). If you increase the font size they become quite clear:

♥ ♡ ☃ ☼ ☽ ☂ ★ ☆ ♙ ♘ ♗ ♖ ♔ ♕ ☺ ✈ ⚓ ⚜
Ho... une fleur de lys... ? :-D
How do you put the white heart and the sun ?? ♥
avatar
gunsynd: Ok,how do you do it?☺
I'm a nerd and use a Mac. I press ⌥⌘T to show a nice little box of special characters, which are the unicode characters. Then I just click on one and it adds it to the text. But it seems not all are recognised on the GOG forum.

Oh yes, it's a houseful. Really glad I don't have some kind of animal-related allergy, otherwise I'd be all kinds of screwed. -laughs-

It seems that for me at least the Fleur-de-lis does not load in the browser after posting it. I guess not all characters work. As for how I do it, it's magic! :-)

(Or read my reply to Gunny above for the real answer. :-))

You'll be okay. Some games are crap, but I'd bet you have a lot more good than bad.

You clean out the bad, never touch them again, appreciate the good ones more and approach the whole games buying process more analytically so you don't get stuck playing more garbage. =)

Ok,I wonder if there is a special key for PC keyboards?

What the heck is that... Õ__Ô ... crap. I can't do this on windows then ?...

I'm not sure, I know it's been part of the Mac OS for ages, but I'm not sure about Windows. On the Mac it shows as a box with different sub categories. It also gives you a list of alternative symbols, but not all are unicode, so I guess they are not guaranteed to work on GOG.

I don't think you can on Windows, but I am not used to Windows anymore so someone else might know. I attached a screen shot to this post showing what the special characters box looks like for me, complete with the Fleur-de-lis, since it won't show on GOG. :-)

The middle character is "command" which is "control" on PC. I think the first character translates to win's "alt."

But my Mac is at home...

EDIT: Of course the same command probably won't work on Windows, but the keys translate directly to the Windows keys.

I have only just started it, but I am not getting a good feeling for it. I will let you know more about it once I have given it a proper play. But to be honest, I still prefer it to Mind: Path to Thalamus, which was just walking - pick up sphere - move sphere to right spot - more walking - pick up sphere - move sphere to right spot - more walking - and so on and on.

I got them both from bundles so I am not too disappointed, but I would never dream of buying them for full price, especially when they are not that good, IMO.

Press and hold the alt key and enter the number on the numeric keypad, when you let go of alt it shows.
