So are you any good at baking fancy cakes? I can do basic cakes and I'm quite the good cook, but anything too artsy and I am useless. :-)
Hum... not really. The most "artistic" cake I ever made was a birthday cake for my owlet son, a few years ago... Pigs swimming pool... lol... here :

Now that is just awesome... I want one! XD

adaliabooks: I'm good at making cakes, but not fancy ones... don't really have the patience for decorating them usually. I just slather them in icing or ganache and dig in :)

I do make a mean pie though (seriously, it calls you names and everything).

I see birthday wishes are in order for Crow, but as he doesn't want a fuss I'll leave it at that :)

Anyway, morning all. How are we all this fine chilly day?
Good morning! *morning hug*

That does sound like one mean pie. :-)

I found the perfect cake for your birthday.

CarrionCrow: I'm now curious...how many people really do spend 40 dollars on adventure games?
avatar
ddickinson: I would think very few people, or at least I would hope so. Like you said, good point-and-click games are for the most part enjoyable interactive stories (not to be mistaken for those horrible interactive novel games where you literally click a few buttons and end up just watching cutscene after cutscene). Once you have discovered the story, there is little else to do.

I don't think I would ever pay that kind of price for a game you would really only place once. It's not like it's going to be a long game like an RPG, and it's definitely got limited replay value. It just goes to show how greedy developers and publishers are getting with overpricing their games. Just look at all the other games you can get for a fraction of the price that offer so much more than this game.
<raises hand> I do. But the really good adventure games are like a good blanket - warm and always there. The replay value is the value of the game itself. Why bother playing Gabriel Knight Super Wow Edition again? Because it was a good game.

Hell, why should GOG exist in the first place? Old folks like me? Yes and no.

Games are games. And we love them.

Fine thank you, just a little cold :/
I've just baked a lot since I was a kid and pie and pastry was always something I was good at.
When I first met my girlfriend online I told her I made a really good apple pie but she didn't believe me and said I was a boy and therefore couldn't bake XD
So of course I proved her wrong ;)

',',',',' :"| Thanks..... it was really funny to make... very long, too (4 hours ?)... and all made with awesome belgian chocolate... :-p
Am I the only one who replays point and clicks? I find it nice to go back to my favourite ones every once in a while and sink back into the comfortable familiar atmosphere. Like rereading your favourite book or watching that brilliant movie for the umpteenth time. Having said that, I still think the price for the Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is way too steep.

Hey everyone! Are you all okay?

I never really got into point and click / adventure games. The only one I every really played and enjoyed was Discworld Noir, and while I wouldn't pay more than £10 or so for a working version I would definitely play it again (but it has been years since I've played it, so the puzzles would be pretty much as new anyway).
These days I find it hard to justify £40 for any game, but I know I'll pay it for console games when I have the money again because there isn't really another option :/

Do you replay adventure games often? I might replay them after a few years, maybe sooner for a really good game, but they are never really that long and once you know the story, it loses some of it's appeal. I can see why people would be fine with paying such a high price, but I also think many would not dream of investing so much into an adventure game.

It must be very pleasant to have a boyfriend who can bake... and who likes it !! :)
