ddickinson: That's a very nice article. Australia definitely tends to be more passionate about their rugby and cricket than over here. Which is probably what spurs your teams on to winning so much.
Us Rabbitohs are the most passionate people in footy land. They have a saying here, when Souths are going well
NRL is going well...

budejovice: Well, in response to my asking about the number of threads folks have favorited, I whittled mine down quite a bit. I can now see the general discussion on my monitor without having to scroll down.

To tell you the truth, I feel so naked.

I hope all of you thread regulars are doing well! I'm way too busy processing tax returns to try to keep up with this thread every day, but I hope no one minds me dropping in when I have a chance. :)

EDIT: too few entries in my current giveaway. You guys should enter for a game if you are even halfway inclined! :)
Hey there. =)

Not usually inclined to speak for others, but this time around I feel pretty confident in saying people don't mind you dropping in.

You've got a good looking giveaway going, but between me having everything and feeling ridiculous entering giveaways with my backlog, it'd be a bit silly.
Hopefully someone with less stuff can win it.

I whittled mine down a bit but pretty much like it the way it is. :-)
A +1 for the giveaway, I have 'em all. ;)

Good day!

Of course we don't mind you dropping in, it's always a pleasure. Thank you for the generous giveaway, no games for me, but I did give you a well deserved +1.
Hey D, at least enjoy the OST of the game.
Really,of all the TW games I've played none had a bad soundtrack.

I played all of the games up to Medieval 2, and it's definitely the better of the series at that point. It's also got a very strong modding community and it's easy enough to mod it yourself, which helps prolong the game and make it more fun. The expansion pack to Medieval 2 is quote good as well, it even has it set in the Americas, with the Aztecs and Mayans (and others).

Does Shogun 2 have all the nice little videos that the first Shogun game had? I used to love all those Ninja and Geisha videos when the first Total War game came out.

I will be sure to give the soundtrack a listen sometime, as I did enjoy the other soundtracks of the previous games.
Hell yeah, and if you fail, they're hilarious.
Divinitus and Mare Nostrum are two of the best tracks of the series. Divinitus is so engraved in my brain is weird.

Hi dd & Endre!

My backlog is... embarrassing. I started bundlin' in early December. I have an end result: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/gaming_deals_thread/post54986

3 cheers for the GOG catalog, I must say. :)

I agree. It's a great thing about being focused on GOG. Even the crap games have some kind of value, whereas crap games from other places have nothing of interest at all. They're just garbage.
I would argue that Bloodnet has no redeeming features at all and drags the library down.

It doesn't take up much disc space and it isn't too hard on the specs.

I've heard complaints about a few different items, but not that one.

What about it strikes you as being so bad?

It's an adventure/RPG cross breed which on paper sounds cool

Major problems:

More than 50% of the skills you see during character creation are never called for anywhere in the game's code.
Anything you can do can be done better by any and every NPC you can recruit. Even the 15 year old run away that dies if you are mean to him in a conversation.
Due to the voice track and subtitles not matching up, there are various points in the game where a clue is given either in one or the other. Which is awful because you can't have both text and voice at once.

Have an indepth of what's wrong too. http://lparchive.org/Bloodnet/
A release this late in the day??
Nordic's coming back?
