I think it's their way of getting revenge for you lot invading them in the 1812 war. They are too peaceful to invade you back, so they send their attack geese and cold weather. :-)

F. I'm at -20 or so on my porch. Where are you looking? Most U.P. temps come from Marquette or Houghton Airport which are 130 and 50 miles respectively, not to mention on a peninsula temps can vary 30 degrees from mile to mile.

In fact my back porch, South Side, is showing -20. I don't have a thermometer on my front porch but I'd bet it's at least a 15 degree difference from the back.

I was just looking here: http://www.intellicast.com/National/Temperature/Current.aspx
Obviously it's not very fine grained, it just went down to -12 by my front porch thermometer, and it faces south! :/
