Hug is maybe the only English word we don't have an exact translation for in French. The nearest equivalent I can think of (Calin) is somewhat sexual. We can describe a hug in a sentence but not in a word. I do hope you can prove me wrong.

Not necessarily ; there's not always a sexual innuendo in a "câlin". You can give a "câlin" to your partner, but also a friend, a kid, an animal, or a random stranger... whatever :-) The meaning will depend upon the context...

Just popping in to say hello before heading off to sleep. Been a bit busy with real life stuff, but otherwise doing okay. I see the last little bit of chat here says that a lot of people are doing well - hopefully you all are! :)
