moonshineshadow: I see you are reading through the posts you missed. So did you already come to the part where Endre needed to correct me with the name of the actress because I copied from you? You need to post correct infos since I have no clue about movie stuff :P
*grinning hug*

LaPtiteBete: Yes !!! Sigourney Weather ? LOL ! ^^
Holy cow... Did I really write that... ?
In my defense, it was pretty late !! ;-p
I would not have known that if not for Endre. You see you can tell me almost anything about almost every movie and I would have no idea if it was true or not :D

ddickinson: I enjoy a lot of the older books, especially around the era of HG Wells and up to the mid 20th century. I'm a big fan of fantasy and Sci-Fi (snip)
What about Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert, and Robert Silverberg ? :-D

ddickinson: Good morning, Owl! *good morning hug*

I'm doing good today, thank you. How are you doing today?

So you are not bored of me posting silly quotes yet?
I'm feeling pretty well... not very motivated about my work, still :-/
And nope, not bored yet :-D I like them.
Bringing a little poetry in here sometimes is not a bad thing ^^

moonshineshadow: I have some favourites. For fantasy there are the books of Brandon Sanderson. I really like them since they all have so many good ideas in them and are really different from each other. Not that normal kind of fantasy setting you often have in books.
And also "The Raven" series written by James Barcley. I really like the characters there and the story itself.
Of course there are many other fantasy authors with great books (Brent Weeks, Tad Williams, Trudi Canavan, Anne Bishop, Peter Brett) but those mentioned above are my favourites. Beside from the obvious fantasy classic Tolkien ;-)

For historical novels I really like the books of Ken Follett and Rebecca Gablé (not sure if the latter one has books translated into other languages, she is a german author)
I think I have some of a The Raven series by James Barclay. I just had a quick look at them online and the book covers look familiar. I don't think I have read them yet, they are probably in my to-read pile. I will have to have a look when I get home and then maybe move them to the top of the pile.

CarrionCrow: If you want a fun movie from Cronenberg to watch, I'd suggest Crash. Just find it in its uncut NC-17 form if possible.

From Lynch, I've seen Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway repeatedly. I'm a sucker for dark movies.
Also, their soundtracks are both incredible.
Still need to sit down and watch Twin Peaks from start to finish.
*add "Crash" on my to-watch list. :)
Ho yeah, Lost Highway, excellent... I forgot it was his.
And I agree about the awesome soundtracks !!
I didn't see Twin Peaks...

Advice concerning that one - If you watch it around other people?
They will give you some very strange looks and there will be very awkward moments.

Didn't mention it before, but Crash also has an amazing soundtrack.

Yeah, I need to move Twin Peaks to the top of my Netflix, calm the hell down for a bit and watch it fully, especially with the 25 year anniversary continuation of it coming soon to Showtime.
Need to get up to date before that starts.

If you have them and had some time to read them tell me what you think of them :-) Since I really liked them but tastes are different so I would be interested in your opinion.

I enjoy them as well. But your forgot some others like Isaac Asimov, Frederik Pohl, Robert Heinlein, and Philip Dick. :-)

Banjo Patterson....
A book suggestion - Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk.

My memory has holes like Swiss cheese, but I still remember stories from that.

Alright... I'll watch it alone...
I've just read the synopsis... lol. Awkward is an understatement ... Ô__ô

Yeah...it's different, all right.

Funny thing is, it's not as different as the book it's based on.

I will have a look tonight at my list of books. My partner made me write a list of them all to make it easier to gift me books and not get one I already own. I have so many and keep a lot of them boxed up in the attic, so the list of them is actually quite handy for times like this when I need to check if I have a book or not.

I will probably be done with my current reads by the beginning of next week, so I will start one of the Raven books then and let you know what I think.

Just remembered. Need to watch A Serbian Film at some point, as well.

That's one I wouldn't recommend to anyone sane.
